This is the first day since my last bout of chemo that I felt normal. I went for a walk today with my oldest son who is 12 years old. Part of the way down the river walk I got so hot that i took my hat off. I got a few looks mostly from kids but,you know I didnt care. My son is so helpful and kind, and all he likes is to go for a hot chocolate if we are on our own. So, we went into town and had a bite to eat and it was nice to feel okay. I also bought a pair of slingbacks! It's my weakness, shoes and bags.. I hope all you ladies and (gents) have "normal" days..and make the most of them...
Best wishes

Glad to hear you are feeling normal today - it is so nice to get to that stage in between treatments.
I've been camping this weekend and have also felt very normal too (Also bought some awesome sandals last week - I think a bit of retail therapy is part of our recovery!).
Good for you taking the hat off I did the same thing once and dya know the anticipation of doing it was far worse than actually doing it!
I laughed out loud when I read about your weakness as I too am a total freak for shoes and bags!!! I am heading to NYC in 3 weeks and I am afraid of the potential damage I might do to my finances buying bags and shoes!!!!πππππ
Enjoy the good days and it sounds like you have a lovely young man as a son!!
Thanks D, TK Max is my weakness at the moment....lol. Omg happy for you going to the big apple, you deserve it... And shop till you drop. Not literally of course. Take care
So glad you have had a good day. It must make you feel so happy. Good for you for taking your hat off and buying shoes!!
It's good that just little things can give so much pleasure.
What a great post, it gives a picture of a very happy time. Take your hat off more often - it feels good in the sun doesn't it? Your son sounds wonderful and is a credit to you. Simple pleasures can bring some much joy so long may that continue.
My hubby is off work on hols with me for 2 weeks so we went for a walk around the village at 7am this morning and since we came back at7.30 he's been digging the front border! !! I'm sat on the low wall in the sun, no hat on but enjoying the feeling of the sun on my newly growing hair! Still very very very short but a covering of dark and white (?) And it'll soon be a quarter of an inch long I'm sure so no hat for me.
Good to hear you are feeling a bit normal , I had my forth chemo 9 days ago and was horrible for 7 of them but it's great when you are able to get out with the family.
Dear Damelza. Good for you taking advantage of a good day! New shoes and hot chocolate with your son sound wonderful. My eldest is 12 and he's a lovinglittle boy ( going through what I call tweenagerdom)! He too would have requested a hot chocolate (and a cake)!!!
I had my good days on Thursday, Friday , Saturday and Sunday and now I'm back in hospital having horrid chemo. My kids are being looked after by friends and apparently my son is playing endless tennis and my daughter in on a lovely Sussex beach. The friends who ask how the kids are coping are helping them by spending time with them and looking after them.
When I finish today I have 1 more chemo and then my health is in the hands of the gods.
I needed your positive post today and all those cheery replies. You earned the right and and I love that you took off that hat and didn't care who looked. Well done you.. Hats and shoes you say . Mine is brightly coloured anything ! Keep smiling.
