Had my first post chemo hair cut today........well calling it a cut would be a stretch! A trim! Begining to become attached to my new "pixie" look and even the colour is acceptable!!! Thinking about some bright violet highlights when it gets a little big longer!!!!!

I was actually hoping the whole story about it coming back curly would be true as I have had poker straight hair all my life! I think it is going to be straight though! I don't mind really I am just glad not to be sporting the Kojak look anymore!πππ
I read somewhere that the chemo distorts the hair follicle and so produces a bend in the hair shaft. I just know that isn't going to happen to me as mine was poker straight too. xxx
Ah thanks Mandy! I am surprised at how much I like the short hair! I would never have actually got it cut that short voluntarily but I am going to keep it short now!!!
My skin is in good condition at the min and I am convinced that's down to 2 things I am still drinking at least 2 litres of water a day and, as advised at the Look Good Feel Better I am using Rosewater as a toner, I love it, it's natural, it's cheap and it smells great!!!
Water is indeed the best moisturiser. I drink buckets of it. Not literally as that would be absurd and not a good look π. I will definitely try out the Rosewater too - any particular brand? I'm using up a bottle of Neal's Yard Frankincense toner at the moment, but it's expensive.
Thanks m'dear. That is definitely on my list of purchases..

Hi D that is great news, I remember the last time I had a first cut, I went back out into the Car and put back on the wig, I wasnt ready to go public. I had it off at home but going out keep using it for a few weeks. So now its back to the conditioner etc and a light massage when washing will help it to grow
Must remember the Rosewater, today in Sam McAuleys I got the body moisturiser they have on offer made in Poland, it is cheap and got hand cream to match.
Hi D get you with hair!! It looks great really like the pixie look and your hair colour looks lovely.. I get what you mean about leaving it short as no way would I choose mine to be short let alone bald!! Love Michelle xx
You look truly lovely. So many ladies keep the short look. At my macmillan headstrong day 3 instructors kept their hair short afterwards and they all looked trendy and great. I think we all think long hair keeps us looking younger and are amazed when we embrace a trendy youthful pixie. I'm hoping anyway. February will tell. Well dobe you xx
Looking good and I would go for the highlights. π»π
Looks great! Like you I am favouring keeping the short look as I have had loads of compliments. It feels fresh and natural, doesn't it? I'm also not going to colour mine (well that's what I'm saying at the moment ...) as I'm quite liking the 'pewter' colour, as I'm calling it
Pewter is a good description of the colour! Don't know if I will stick to the no colour but once you start colouring its hard to stop so I will take my time deciding!
Whit woo! Coming on a treat! I played around with spray-on hair colour to match my outfits. I love the Superdrug blue spray wash-in-wash-out one. They're a bit of a chalky texture but they're fun and don't stain.
Wow looks great. Looks to be a REALLY good cut and suits you. After my first cut I just looked like a little old man - lol!! Short hair just doesn't suit me, unfortunately. Xx
I so didn't think it would suit me either but I am growing fond of it! I have to say I am kind of enjoying all the ideas about what to do with it or not whatever the case may be! I am a lot more relaxed about these things these days!
D it looks really soft and natural. It must be good to get to this point and I hope you get a bit of a wave in it when it grows a couple if centimetres longer.... If not then it will still look fab.
Lots of Rosemary Conditioner LA was told it helps hair growth and it seems to be working! but then again when your reference point is BALD any hair will do!!!!
It looks great Dee. I am a few weeks behind you on the hair front but abandoned my hat last week when it was hot even though I feel mine is still a bit sparse for, public exposure. However, I have received lots of compliments from people so maybe it looks better than I think!
You are having a really good hair day . I have alway kept my hair short as it is so fine and wispy . When I lost it and it grew back curly and silver grey everyone loved it including me so I kept it. I had no idea what my real colour was until I lost it. Now with Carbo only facing me I will probably end up looking like Worzel Gummidge ! Meanwhile your positive posts and your photos inspire hope . Take care .
As long as there are no unscheduled stops along the way I hope to reach the NED station on time ! I will live in hope anyway . Take care you and if you do go the highlights way let us have a preview. Maybe some of us should try teal !
