Thanks for posting! It sounds very promising, though I suspect probably mainly for serous ovarian cancer, as that's the sort that is often suspected of starting in the fallopian tubes. I could, of course, be quite wrong about that!

Hi D

That is very interesting news and the most positive I have read for early detection. Wouldn't it be great if the monster could be shown the door before it had a chance to make a home in us. I am presuming they think OC originates in the Fallopian tubes. I have been told that PPC more than likely does. There are a few women here who have been detected before Stage 3 or 4. How have they been found as I think the main symptoms only get more pronounced at the later stages ? As for myself I am convinced that my so called IBS symptoms , which started at least ten years before diagnosis , were a sign of the disease. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the lives of thousands of women could be saved in the future ? Thanks for telling us about it.

I was diagnosed at stage 1. I was bleeding constantly so went for a scan where they found a huge mass. I having chemo now for clear cell cancer. I am so glad I went to Drs just wish I had gone sober.

Thanks Shelly

For a moment I had visions of your first encounter with the Dr but I guessed it was a typo ! How lucky were you to have found someone who didn't ignore your symptoms and did further tests. It would be great to know that all women could get that chance. Meanwhile you are an example that shows it can be found early . Take care. Thanks for telling your story .

Yes a typo but a funny one. It was the practice nurse that sent me for a scan which I'm so greatful for 😃

I have PPC serous stage 3c, after surgery I had the organs removed and tested, they found serous in the firmal end of the right Fallopian tube and uterus. I also had caking of the omentum and the Peritoneam, however none on the ovaries so it's all strange.

Hi D

Lucky you too . I think the GP is the key . I had so many times been put off by my original GP and told I had IBS or was offered pills for my anxiety ! I hope they are listening to women these days but I am not so sure. This new breakthrough could be a lifesaver for thousands of women . Thanks for telling us . I do not want the women of the future to be burdened with this dreadful disease that is mostly found too late. Take care

I am doing ok with the chemo I think my overwhelming thoughts are it's not as bad as I expected but I'm still early stages. I have my third round a week today. I still have some hair but I'm getting fed up with the constant shedding. I'm worse than my two dogs. 😃

Thanks for posting D. I've been told 2 contradictory things. That new science thinks many ovarian cancers start in the Fallopian tubes and that primary fallopian cancer is really rare.

My cancer is definitely fallopian in origin and then it spread onto an originally benign ovarian cyst. I was so so lucky as without that cyst causing me so tummy problems I would have been told again that all my minor niggles were down to an early menopause.

This test would be amazing wouldn't it. The thought that such early detection could work and ladies could be saved from all of this...

Wishing everyone a good day...

Love, T. X

Oh Dxx it would be fantastic to know that they will be able to screen this beast and get early diagnosis, and then it would be absolutely fantastic for a cure for the rest of us. xxc
