Hey Kempton!

I am almost 13 weeks finished and I still have aches too! Tiredness as well but it's definately getting better as time goes on! I am exercising a lot more now and I think that is helping!

My doc says the tiredness would last 2 to 3 months and I know others on here will say it can go on longer! I try to remind myself what my body has been through and that it will take a while for it to recover!

Hope this helps!

I agree with D while it is a while since I had that regime, I was unable to work for about three months post chemo. You must build up stamina start by short walks. Take paracetamol for aches and pains and also I found soaking my feet in epsom salts to be a benefit. If you have a bath put it in the bath about a cupful should do.. Take it easy baby steps first

Hi, what you are going through is very normal. Would have been surprised if it weren't. So, take it day by day . Fatigue and neuropathy are going to be with you. Three to six months is what I was told by the onco. So keep going and thinK +ve.

My wife is in a similar situation as yours with seven weeks since the last chemo and she is just marginally better than she was during chemo. Fatigue and aches in the extremities including needle like pokes in the soles are a most common denominator.

I agree with the other ladies. The fatigue can last quite some time. I became quite anemic, got some transfusions and felt a little better. But chemo is such an insult to your body, give it time. Best wishes, Nesie237

Hi D I'm thinking quite a bit in joining an exercise class... which did you decide? Michelle xx

Hey Michelle!

I joined a gym and am doing cardio and weight training! Haven't been this week cos of the arm but am going to go back next week! I will only be able to use lower body machines for a while! I am enjoying it and it's becoming part of my routine which is good! I did get some help from a personal trainer to make sure I was using everything properly and doing what I needed to do! The weight training is supposed to be good for your bones and I am conscious about that cos of menopause etc!

I defo think the exercise is helping me both physically and mentally so highly recommend it!

Hey Michelle!

Yep back full time and it's not too bad! Have been back for few weeks! I didn't actually discuss work with onc at all! It was my GP that did my certs etc and I just went with how I was feeling! I did take it very easy at first and did take 5 weeks after last Chemo off completely!

It drives me crazy sometimes but I love my job and the people that I work with so I always felt better working. I am very lucky too cos they have been great all the way through!!!

Some days I am truly knackered after work still but it's getting better!!

Good for you for going back too!

It took me a while, several months, to get all my energy back. It came back gradually and I slowly did more, walked further, stayed up after 10pm. Inhad a few aches and pains in odd places but they did go away. Good luck.

I did. The effects of chemo are cumulative. Listen to your body ... Xxx
