Hi. I am dismayed at price of holiday insurance since being diagnosed with oc. I,m sure I,m not the only one. Anyone with any suggestions. Thanks
Holiday insurance: Hi. I am dismayed at price of... - My Ovacome
Holiday insurance
Try insure with, expensive but affordable, used them several times, good luck. Xx
Try Eurotunnel. They don't exclude any non terminal medical condition (i.e. until a terminal prognosis has been given) - the only condition is that you have your doctor's agreement that you are fit to travel if you have any pre-existing medical conditions. My GP just puts a note on the computer that I'm going on holiday. Annual cover for husband and me is £115. Vx
I can also recommend Insurancewith.com. Good luck!
Definitely try insurance.with or JD travel x
Try MIA insurance they are very reasonable.
I was in a similar position ,jas I'm in ireland,I could not get travel insurance to cover me ,I had to get a u.k company that deals with people in ireland.I spent 4 days in Malaga and it cost me €1053.00!!!! way more expensive than the break away.I was going to rely on my European health card but after reading about the spainish hospitals and their views on the health card,I decided it was safer to get insurance. The next trip away will be to a country that accepts the European health card without any quibble! The one problem I see is unless you have travel insurance or disposable cash, your European health card will not cover air ambulance home or repatriation.Which is my main worry.I got my insurance with All-Clear.
Insurewith were great when I needed cover for 4 week trip to Australia and New Zealand. We have annual cover through our bank account and Insurewith were very good at identifying exactly what I needed viz cover for the PPC only as I had everything else covered already. It came to £250. However, this quote seemed to be so good because of the reciprocal health provision arrangements with these two countries. We may be looking for cover for a trip to the USA later this year and because of the health provision there, I think I mught be looking at £1000 unless someone has any other suggestions. Had a fantastic trip too! X
Sorry to read that. I changed travel insurance to my private health company, (simply because trying to renew on-line was taking too long with my regular group).
Was thrilled to find out that as I am covered fully for my regular chemo and/or maintenance treatment that I am automatically given the same cover if abroad....yippee. The only request was that I must get a letter from my Oncologist to say I am fit to travel.
LIving in Ireland so that may not apply in UK or other countrys.

Thank you all for your very useful replies. I will certainly try all your suggestions and see what happens. I will let you know how I come on. Thanks
Try 'OK to Travel' (just google) , those are what I usually book insurance with but I guess it depends on the details of the diagnosis and circumstances where the best deal can be found.
World first travel insurance.
Hi,
I travel with my regular insurance, I am not covered for my cancer but everything else is. I personally think its not worth spending extortionate amounts of money on insurance, especially if your in Europe and can travel home fairly quickly. I waited until my chemo had finished. I still have evidence of disease and am on Avastin. I traveled to Greece last October and going again in May.
Have a lovely holiday
Caz x
I got cover for a week in the Canary Islands from American Express (I'm not a card holder) for £64 for myself and my partner which excludes anything related to pre-existing conditions. I'm technically in remission from grade 3c but on Avastin, and my only problems at the moment are some Avastin side effects. I'm therefore happy with this level of cover for the moment.
