Hi vonny1960, my oncology dept gives us emergency contact numbers on a card which says you must contact them if temp is over 37 or feeling unwell. Are u on antibiotics . I think I would give them or your CNS a ring get some reassurance.

Good luck Kris x

Hi I was told that if mine went above 37 I was to ring the hospital for advice. Hope you're feeling better soon x

I too was told to phone if my temp was high which happened several times. They did blood tests and once a chest xray but it was always ok. I apologised for making a fuss and was told they'd rather I got checked out than left it and went in on a stretcher !

Hi Vonny. My temperature went up so I rang and then went in and was kept in for five days as I had swine flu. I had no other symptoms and felt fine and found the five days in isolation in hospital sooooooooooo tedious. So, after the next chemo, it was up again but I waited and checked and it was up and down but still mainly up and after three days it went down. Before the next chemo I did say what I had done i.e not rung or gone in. Well, I got a really big bollocking from the oncologist!! He said that he had known patients die within 24 hours of a delayed trip to the hospital and I was never to do that again. Fortunately, I didn't have to as the temp stayed normal. So I would say if there is any doubt, go in. Hope all continues to go smoothly for you. Val x

Thanks Val I'm keeping my eye on temp so far so good but I know what you mean it's hard to know what to do for the best if it goes back up again I'm off! X
