Thanks to everyone who got involved with my caelyx fears and why no platinum debates !
No problem yet with hands and feet , which should by summer look delicious !
They have never been so oiled and creamed .
However , although this is my fifth chemo sortie , I have never been so fatigued in my life ...I am sleeping and sleeping and sleeping .
Had the platinum conversation yet again , and this time , Onc looked back through notes , and agreed that we could have another go since Cisplatin last used two years ago : also assured me that there were other possibilities post caelyx .
My " pattern " has been , pretty much , 6 months on , 6 months off ...it' s like weeding with me , we pull up the buggers and they grow elsewhere !
I do feel well enough to garden but , zzzzzzzzzzzz at the attempt .
Love to you all .

I'm relieved to hear you're getting on OK with the Caelyx. I'm about to start it at some time but have just had a 3 month additional reprieve if I don't have any symptoms.
Hopefully there's not too much that needs doing in the garden at the moment and by the time we're in full summer you'll be heading towards the end of your Caelyx treatment.
Oh Annie , breaks are good so much the stronger when you start again .
I tried to gamble on this lot , tried to put it off ; but new growth is new growth , although the CA125 low and no dreaded ascites . The thinking was better to get going than wait ...who am I to argue ?
Good Luck with your treatment, Angela. Hope this does the trick for you and you have a long remission spell this time. Maybe this one will be a very effective weed killer!! It's good to know there will be other treatments if necessary, too. Very reassuring. Keep your chin up - when you're not zzzzzzzing, of course.
Hi Angela, hope the treatment goes well. I'm on 2nd line and my 4th cycle really knocked me out. I slept for England! Every time you think you have it sussed things change. That's cancer keeping us on our toes!! You'll soon be out in the garden again. The sun's shining here in Derbyshire at the moment and the sky's blue - but all that could change in an instance and the sleety stuff will be falling again.
I'm starting mine on Monday and starting to worry about how it will behave in me - had an extra 4 weeks off as had lots of things planned the last 2 weeks, having carboplatin as well so expect to be dozen. Work may be tricky!
Hi Angela, I was OK on Caelyx, no side effects - felt well throughout unlike paclitaxol which wiped me out first chemo. ONC said no two chemo cycles were the same but I did not belief him and pushed him to prescribe something. He then agreed to a daily dose of 1 steroid (following the normal 3 per day x 3 days. However he was right as did not feel half as bad after chemo 2 so did not bother taking them.
If I were you I would push for extra steroids and see how you go as you might find next chemo you are OK but have the steroids as a back up. Hope you feel better soon, love you comments about the skin cream although I am so lazy I never bothered using any but did not get any skin problems. Take care and hope you get in your garden soon x
