Hi ya, sorry to hear your CA125 up so soon after first line. It's such a shock after having the chemo and debulking to find you still have traces of cancer.

My first line was carboplatin and paxitacel and I finished Feb 2013. My CA125 went up to 6600 so it was decided to have another lot in November 2013. The next was carboplatin and gemcitabine plus Avastin. That's just finished, November 2014, and I have progression, yet again!!! My CA125 is rising once again, the last count being 983. 3rd line starting in the New Year, Caelyx and another lot of carboplatin. Lots of ladies on this site are on 4th, 5th and 6th line treatments and I am sure that figure will be higher when you start getting replies.

Good luck and take care, Irene xxx

Sorry to hear this. I am on 3rd line. There are plenty of treatments/Chemo out there for you. 11 Months is not so bad of a remission. Wishing you all the best xxx Trish

I was diagnosed stage 1V in May 2012, longest period without chemo was 6mths after 1st line, have now started on weekly taxol as 5th line. Getting weary of chemo xx

Dignosed on Oct. 2013, Peritoneal/abdominal might be ovary origin, metastatic papillary serous carcinoma...the last 12 months finished 3 kind of chemo Carbo & Taxol, Doxil as well as etoposide. Last CT still no major progression no remission at all. No hope for any thing except continue chemo ...however due to the bloody as well as painful side effects of the chemo together with the cancer itself, i have decided to stop one month ago, i feel better but not much. Unfortuantly , no plan except looking for ways to improve my life quility.

Hi, I also have stage 4, diagnosed Oct 2010, carbo, op, carbo. 1st reoccurrence was Feb 2013. So had gone nearly 20 months since my last chemo. Had carbo/taxol March 2013, and although my ca has been rising I have not been back in chemo yet, which will make it 16 months since my last lot. Was hoping to go to the same amount of time again but having a scan today and we will see what comes up. I think I have been very lucky so far, with no set backs on chemo, and its worked very well, last one gave a complete response. So I wish you all the best that your next one does the job and you get a good remission. Trix

I had carboplatin last winter, finished in February. But it didn't make much difference to my cancer, so I had a break, & started on weekly Taxol at the end of July. It would have been sooner, but it was delayed due to checks to see if I was suitable for a trial involving taking a trial drug at the same time. They want to see if the drug enhances the effects of weekly Taxol. I failed one of the blood tests, so am just on the Taxol. I'm expecting it to continue till the new year.

Well I am sorry you had recurrence but I have had treatment on and off since 2007. My longest remissions was about a year and a half if you count that I was symptomatic from that time. Didnt get treatment as delay in diagnosis so I got almost two and a half years. Delay did not affect how I responded to treatment just as well for the hospital involved. I had rt as had a spot in 2011 and then began more chemo Oct 2014 which I finished last Feb, staying on the Avastin at the moment. So there is hope and also plenty of drugs out there to keep us going. I am stable at the moment

thank for the reply all i just want to survivie this but its stage 4 sndim worried i will not, but what you all said helped me alittle

I agree it is hard to fight this thing but we soldier on and do the best we can, that is all we can do. I never asked what stage I was and was never told but after three chemos it is a worry. Be gentle with yourself, and if there is a cancer support service near you, do make contact. I am lucky in that I have access to one and went and got some counselling. All I can say is that our feelings are normal and having a serious illness is stressful. My onc has a story that he has one breast cancer patient who he stopped treatment on 15 years ago and she still has her six months check up, the cancer grew no further. So there is always hope

Hi. My first line treatment finished week before Christmas 2013, raised CA125 in Aug. Told in Sept that its back. On watch and wait. Had scan on Monday, just waiting for appointment to determine next move. It sucks I know but one lady on here posted about how she got a lot longer from 2nd line so don't give up hope. Ann xo
