Hi Jenny

Sorry to hear that.

I had a couple of episodes of vaginal bleeding prior to diagnosis- it was that that made me realise something was wrong.

It's always very worrying when these things happen but until you get the scan results you can't really assume what it might be.

Take care

Hi Jenny

Sorry to hear that your having problems. IBS is a pain but is easily treated.

As for the vaginal bleed try not to worry to much, (easier said than done I know) let them do what they need to do and tell you what the problem is before you assume the worse.

Thinking of you

Hi Jenny, That's definitely NOT what you want. I really hope your hospital get the scan done and a plan to sort out whatever is the problem.

IBS is horrible. Hopefully they'll be sorting out the two problems at the same time.

Are you feeling well otherwise? xxxx love Annie

Hi Annie, since the bleed IBS seems ok, that has made me feel better in its self, a scan is next week hopefully then I will know if returned, I only finished chemo 3 months ago? such a drag to think back so soon. hope your doing well love Jenny xxx

You sound OK in yourself but I can't imagine how worried you must be thinking it may have returned so soon when you had such a good run last time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that any symptoms aren't linked to a relapse. Please let us know how you get on next week.

I seem to be doing well on the second line Carbo-platin, Gemcitibane and Avastin. Since starting this I've heard from quite a few women who have also been put on this regime for their second line so we've buddied up to compare how we're getting on. So far so good for me. No side-effects of much note. I had a bit of sea-sickness after the first treatment but then I discovered I hadn't taken all the tablets so it was probably my fault.

Early days - and I don't have the hassle of losing my hair which is a positive. I'll know how I'm getting on after a mid-term scan in January. I've suggested there's no point in 3-week oncology appointments whilst there's nothing really to discuss and I've got more interesting things to do with my time. I think they were quite surprised but I've promised I'll be in touch if I have any problems. Of course it scuppers some of the London Museum plans if I'm not there as much - but I still have that opportunity 2 weeks out of 3 when I receive chemo.

I'm about to tackle the Big Journey - leaving Cardiff on the 5:30 bus which drops me off at Earls Court, cycling down to South Ken for a 9:30 bloods appointment, chemo 2 hours later and then catching the bus back. Up till now I've stayed overnight in London but it takes me away from home and from Martin. Actually the bus journey is quite restful now I've invested in some noise-cancelling earphones.

Still planning to come over to Bristol to see you. xxxx Love and hugs. Annie

Ah thanks Annie if I have to have more chemo I am asking for one that wont take my hair again, just started to grow after 3 months remission why so long I don't Know, glad your doing well and don't forget the tablets I did that and boy was I sick. love Jenny xxx ps I will keep all informed of results of scan

Hi, yes Sandra also had vaginal bleeding and when mentioned at the nex clinic (last year) he perfomed an internal and ordered a scan. In her case it did confirm a recurrence and the start of more treatment. Her discharge then subsided. It has returned of late but we are being told it coukd be a side effect of the Tamoxifen. Her scan result next week will tell us more. Until they do a scan no one can be certain what is causing your bleeding. Love Paul xx

Hi Jenny,

Like Anne it was bleeds that alerted me to a problem in the first place. I hope that you can get scan done and things sorted as soon as possible.

Sending you a hug.

Hi Jenny. The vaginal bleed happened to me too which showed a growth of a tumour at the top of my vagina. I had more chemo which helped and then it happened again so they zapped the area with radiotherapy which slowed it for a few months. It's back again and at the moment I'm on a trial drug which hopefully will help the bleeding amongst other things!

I think mine might be a worst case scenario but it's certainly a good idea to get it checked out. Keep being optimistic as more than likely it's nothing to worry about.

Hi Jenny. First bleeding was 7 months after my first chemo which is almost 2 years ago now. Since then bleeding has been intermittent depending on the treatment! But really it's been there all the time ranging from very minimal to OMG what's happening here!!!!

Let me know what happens when you have your scan and keep smiling!

Hi jenny I was diagnosed July 12, it was the vaginal bleeding that sent me to the GP. After surery had first round of chemo. CT scan clear, then 3mnths later bleeding started again, completed 2nd round of chemo. September. Waiting to see gynaecologist in 2weeks, ? Whether more surgery and then radiotherapy, was unable to have Avastin as I also have Crohn's disease, so I have problems with pain recognition is it the tumour or the Crohn's. I do keep a diary so hope this will help me and Drs. So it's good that their is more they can do to keep the cancer at bay, hope all goes well for you.
