strange bubbling on right side/on carbo taxol and was constipated...

Hi this is so strange but I'm going mad with worry. I was very constipated after my last chemo session 2 weeks ago and had laxatives etc but I've had a bubbling, burping feeling in my right side.Its audible and happens when i move. my bowels are moving as normal and have been for about 5 days. It feels like my intestines moving but its high up (nearly under my ribs but how can your intestines be that high?) The bubbling is mostly on my right. I have a small tumour they've found on my diaphragm which wasn't expected and I'm so worried. I have to wait until 21st jan for a scan. Has anyone had anything like this with carbo taxol as i know it affects digestion and bowels? I really hope someone can shed light on this? Help and thanks x

If you look at a picture of the human anatomy, you will see the large colon goes up the right hand side of the abdomen, along the top of your abdomen (below the ribs) and then down the left hand side. So food being digested moves in that direction, and I'd say it's quite normal to have noises while it's doing this. If you say it's on the right, then that's when it's going uphill as it were (!) so maybe it has to work harder (just my theory). I honestly think it would be more worrying if you didn't have bowel noises! If in doubt do ask a doctor, though. All the best.

I hate stomach noises so get where you are coming from! A bit of clockwise massage of the abdomen helps!

Yes sometimes our tummies are out of sync during chemo/ If you had a hysterectomy prior to treatment you must remember that your intestines have more room to move around now,

Hi Nikki. I have had Carbo/Taxol combo before and the bubbling I would identify as gas? Re the constipation...with Carbo its perfectly normal so try and include roughage in your diet fruit/veg fibres. I find what works best for constipation is prune juice so maybe try that?
