I am recently diagnosed with osteoporosis and the Endocrinologist is suggesting Reclast. I am considering it and would appreciate hearing about your experience. Thank you.

Has anyone taken Reclast for osteoporosis?
I had it (the first time) in 02/21. Had a flu like (fever and all body muscle pain, nothing else) the day after that. The symptoms started about 14 hours after the iv and all gone a day after. I was taking tylenol to deal with the fever.
I had 5 doses from 2009-2013 with no side effects and success. In 2020, my bone density plummeted; after seeking a second opinion, I took another dose of Re-Clast in May of 2021 and made sure that I was well hydrated prior and post infusion.
My doctor also ordered an hour slow drip infusion which is less intrusive entering the system and I had no side effects.
I am attentive to taking my calcium and drinking a good amount of water daily as directed.
Hope this helps!
Hi Bellalua14, thank you for posting on our forum. I suggest you type "Reclast" in the "Search HealthUnlocked" field at the top right of your screen. There have been many threads on the topic over the years.

Interested in these responses as it has been recommended to me. I am still thinking about it.
I'm 78 and have been on osteo meds for years...Fosomax, Fortero, and others. As osteo progressed, Reclast was prescribed 6 yrs ago. After 5 yrs, I had to go off of it for a year but resumed it this Sept. I've had no adverse side effects from any of the osteo drugs and my infusion only takes about 15-30? minutes. Best of luck in your decision.
