steroid induced stress fractures

I am part of the PMR group, and have been on steroids for 1 1/2 years, doing well on that end, down from 20 to 10 mg daily. Unfortunately, I just found I have my 5th stress fracture! I had not had any prior to this. I am also getting Prolia and eat tums ultra 1000 as calcium is a no-no in other forms for my stomach. What on earth! 2 in the sacral area, 1 lumbar, 2 different thoracic. I've worked through them, and am active though don't do yoga anymore.......77 yrs. old, drink protein shakes. Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions? 5' 7" --well, I was a month ago! who knows now--and weigh 140 pds, 135 prior to the prednisone. Now I've been advised to see a neurosurgeon. I do wear a support during the day, but I'm about to need a cast to cover all the areas!! I am only in pain in the new area. The others eventually settled down. It is like whack-a-mole.
