I stupidly decided to eat a bunch of tostitos at 930 pm one night and was awakened at 230am by a choking acid reflux attack. And yesterday, I decided to have a small piece of cherry pie right after dinner. I felt very full and off for about an hour or two.....then I threw up my whole meal. Has anybody else had similar experiences and how to prevent the acid attacks and vomiting going forward.
I have IBS and GERD. I am also weaning off Omeprazole after 90 days prescribed. Taking one every other day.
Thank you

Hi like you I am reducing my meds I am still taking the gaviscon and I eat very early evening before 6pm and drink mainly water and no snacking before bedtime. I have relaxed my diet but still avoid citrus foods and tomatoes and if I eat I do not lie down for at least 3 hours.
I think while you are reducing your meds try and take more control over your diet to see if that helps. I haven’t tried the Kaufman diet as I have googled what and what not to eat but from what other contributors have posted it is worth giving it a shot.
Personally, I have found when my anxiety kicks in my silent reflux gets worse. Hope you find a resolution. Good lucl
