I have Fibromyalgia, I've been dealing with Acid Reflux and chest sensation. I also have been diagnosed with Osteopenia so I want to get off Pantoprazole for this reason. It's been at least 3 months that I've been on this drug - I get diarrhea from time to time too. Any advice would really be appreciated. My Dr. Said to go off of the Pantoprazole but I haven't yet. Thanks In advance.

Really 😢 Getting rid of acid forming foods & excersize more, oh and that thing called 😬 stress. That one is a hard thing to get rid of in today's world I think 🤔
I have minimised my symptoms by losing onions, garlic, lemon juice, tomatoes, orange juice, curry. I have a fairly plain bland evening meal but it is worth it.
If you have been on PPI for three months + you will get acid rebound if you go cold turkey. Taper very slowly and have Rennies/Gaviscon/Peptac etc with you at all times.
You can easily get an ulcer if you are not careful. Lots of Ibuprofen to cope with pain can injure your kidneys... Ask me how I know.
Beware miracle cure books - they are money spinners written for people who have mild symptoms and an over active imagination.
Two ulcers and injured kidneys. I had to go back on PPI. 23 years now. After botched heart surgery three years ago I was also diagnosed with osteopenia. OK now, just had DEXA scan. I supplement with everything that malabsorption compromises.
I have aperistaltic oesophagus so controlling reflux challenging. Currently being assessed for surgery.
Are you holding your own on the Osteopenia? They have something that they can do for you now to stop it from turning into Osteoporosis. Some kind of IV they use, My neighbor does it and is 77 years old and doing well
