Post Helicobacter symptoms

I have been suffering from Chronic gastritis for 4 years after my helicobacter infection was treated successfull. I manage the condition with 40mg pantoprazole daily with Gaviscon as and when needed.

I have had 4 endoscopies to date and every time it comes back with mild chronic gastritis

I could go months without any major flare ups but when I do get flare ups it takes weeks to return to normality despite medication.

My gastroenteritis thinks I have functional dyspepsia but symptoms of gastritis and FD are same so I am not sure about FD.

Has anyone been diagnosed with Gastritis or Functional Dyspepsia after helicobacter infection? How do you manage symptoms like pain in upper middle abdominal and occasional heartburn

I have had bouts of gastritis since having been diagnosed and treated for H Pylori and diagnosed with gastritis a few years ago. My seems to get trigged by food and alcohol but doesn’t seem follow a pattern. I am currently still having symptoms after a bbq several weeks ago. I currently have discomfort a few hours after eating, feelings of gnawing hunger between meals and irritable bowel symptoms. I am not taking anything but do take Gaviscon Advance if I need it. I found the PPIs made it worse. I also think I am very stressed about what is happening in the world so that could also be a trigger. Just eating bland foods etc.

Hi, I had reflux and they sent the camera down and found gastritis and prescribed Omeprazole 40mg twice a day my next endoscopy they found a sliding hernia (top of stomach) but no gastritis, I had bad reflux 3-4 times a week and was diagnosed with GORD. Had another endoscopy and there was slight gastritis so changed my medication to pantoprazole 40mg twice a day that’s reduced the reflux to only 1-2 times a week and my last endoscopy found no gastritis so fingers crossed it stays that way. My reflux was very bad and ended up causing erosion of my top teeth and they started falling out lost 6 and they decided to pull the rest and affected my taste buds. Sorry I can’t be more helpful. They also found out my oesophageal muscles only work intermittently so I have issues swallowing both food and drink. Hopefully you’ll get some better answers. Kevin
