I started taking Lansoprozole about a week ago following an Endoscopy and colonoscopy. Am on a twice daily dose of 15mg for GERD. Relieved to say that nothing suspicious has been found.I'm experiencing terrible chest and stomach pains and am spending a lot of my time sleeping to escape the pain.
Does it improve or should I be going back to my doctor?
I would be interested to know how others have felt taking it - all replies gratefully received. Thank you

Hi, sorry to hear about your suffering. I have been on different PPI's for several years and found Lansoprazole quite good. However, I did suffer terrible sternum pain and nausea about a week after my endoscopy, which lasted about a month and I'm still not right now. I believe the endoscopy did more harm than good. I have Gastritis and Hiatas hernia and have had other endoscopies in the past with no problems. It could be related to the procedure. Take care.
Thank you for your thoughts - am now taking Pantoprozol. Less side effects but not sure it's helping yet.Am so glad I've come across HealthUnlocked as have been reading about other things to try such as Liquorice root and Slippery Elm which I may try if I get desperate.
Thank you for taking the trouble to reply. Was switched to Pantoprazole but am now trying Esemoprazole which seems to be giving me less side effects, with Famotidine overnight. Am hoping to have finally cracked it!
