Hi my brother is on lansoprazole for stomach acid and is suffering very frequent severe diarrhoea. He lost 9lb in one week. The doctor has advised to come off of it to see if it is the Lansoprazole as he has other meds that he is on. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar side effects and if they have stopped taking the lansoprazole how long did it take for the side effects to stop?

I too am taking Lansoprazole for reflux and to counter the effect of Prednisolone on my stomach. I've had bad diarrhoea for the past 10 days or so so have temporarily stopped taking it.
