Doctor has put me on lansoprazole, I have been taken it now for 1 week. The burning has decreased, but no change with the crackling/ bubbling. The noise it makes is audible.
Does anyone else suffer with this crackling sound? How long does it take for the meds to work?
Thank you.

I’m taking lansaprazole for acid reflux I had a bravo monitor attached to my osoephagus with showed I have Barrett’s disease which 2 of my other siblings also have. I don’t get a crackling noise but lots of sticky phlegm. I’ve got to have biopsies taken on Tuesday to see what stage the Barrett’s is at.
Hi Josie, I hope your tests go well. Can you advise me on whether you needed to stay of your acid medication for a period before the test? I haven’t seen a specialist yet but have been told I would need a month off medication.
Yes thank you, all went well but you only usually come off the antacid’s for a fortnight, we’ll that’s all the consultants told me here and that was bad enough.
it will be hun as it’s an awful long time to be off them, I didn’t think the antacids were working until I had to come off them, keep plenty of gaviscon in and if you have to have the procedure done then lot of paracetamol you can add water too 😊
Usually with Barrett’s disease apart from having acid reflux you bring up a lot of phlegm either morning or night, burning sensations, heartburn, constant feeling of lump in your throat, regurgitation, nausea and vomiting, I have a sliding hiatus hernia that comes up into the oesophagus 3cm long.
