Hi, I’ve been trying to find answers for over 5 years. I get pretty bad upper abdominal pain upon waking every morning but after an hour or so propped up in bed it fades and I can get up.
Alcohol makes it far worse and means I’ll wake up in the night feeling terrible with pain, sweating and nausea. Hence I hardly touch alcohol.
Some years ago it became really bad - especially during the night - and I was hospitalised and put on morphine. Since then it’s stabilised. Back then I was also getting a lot of reflux/ regurgitation which I don’t really get so much anymore.
I’ve run the gamut of specialists and gone from diagnosis of GERD/NERD to Chronic pancreatitis to fibromyalgia. My diagnosis is currently parked at ‘dunno’ and seems to be going no further.
I’m on omeprazole, pregabylin, amitrypyline and recently steroid inhalers and mometasone for new congestion/lung issues which could be connected - who knows! I used to wake up with a dry tickling cough in the night
Anyway, I wondered if any of you good people might have a similar experience that would throw light on this one.
I’m a bit fed up with the way these things get left when it’s not totally straightforward.
Thanks,
C
