Clomipramine is an effective medication, but it does make you drowsy. There are newer medications, mainly of the SSRI family of antidepressants, that usually have fewer side effects. I took clomipramine for many years and felt better on it, but constantly dopey. I've been on sertraline, an SSRI antidepressant, and don't have the drowsiness now.

I live in England now, so I just see my therapist in Greece twice a year, I suppose I have to talk about this to the local GP if there any available help

It's rather a long way to go for a therapist! Do register with a local GP. It makes sense anyway, as you may need a doctor for other reasons.

Let the doctor know about your OCD, and ask if you can be referred to a therapist in this country.

I personally can't take Clomipramine because I am epileptic, it has a higher risk of seizure side effects, so it would interfere with my anti-epilepsy medication as does prozac and dopamine blockers., so I'm taking Escitalopram on its own now. However I WAS on Pregabalin with my SSRI together for 7 years, which was therapeutic, but the therapeutic side of Pregabalin only lasted no more than six months, then they increased the dose equals double the nasty side effects. I had a medication review with my GP and it was advised that I reduced it extremely slowly under supervision which I did do over a period of six months, and now my physical health is better off for it , but I am finding my Escitalopram very helpful 'a good motivator' which is better with CBT together, but at the moment I take it on it's own 30mg while I'm awaiting a place at Springfield.

I know of somebody who used to take Clomipramine on it's own and it did help a lot but also they werr unable to get up in the morning they were too tired to get up before noon. Yes I do agree with Sallyskins on that note.
