It does sound like OCD. Is there a particular reason why you have been prescribed a different medication? It might be worth asking about CBT if you haven't been offered it before. Although OCD does occasionally go away of its own accord it usually needs treatment. But it responds well to CBT and medication.

Always remember that OCD does fluctuate and its raising of its ugly head again isn't always the fault of the medication. So it might be worth going back on the SSRI that served you well for so many years. Then supplement it not with different meds, but with CBT! Perhaps ask for a referral to a CBT therapist, and get a self help book to get you going.

That's good. Now for some CBT! It can make a difference.

Here are a couple of downloads which might be helpful. And get a book!
