ocd sufferers:

Please don't do anything silly, just remember you are a really lovely person, just remember if anybody needed help in an emergency right now you would be there, remember who you are in your soul. try and maintain your hobbies, golf, and socialising is really important. join a support group. maybe even like this web page, you have all helped me today by being really honest and open about your ocd.

I think it is related to the cortisol stress, it is a chemical in our brains, most people have bad thoughts and they don't feel bad!!! okay so get to the Christmas party, tell everyone it's an ocd thought disorder so it's not taboo any more and that we don't have to suffer and hide ourselves away so much.

thank you all for sharing your thoughts today, i think you're all wonderful

brave and ocd thought!

I write short stories, so i guess that helps focus my mind, rather than let it race away into disturbing realm of the ocd, which ranges from the worst thoughts that anybody could have, like worsethan the news. which incidentally, i think lately we are as a society bombarded with traumatic news, so it is pushed on us by the media stuff that we maybe ordinarilly and certainly in the long distant past news that i don't think used to happen so much. So i really emphasize that i know you are finding it to cope with the ocd and i really know it's comforting to me that i am not alone with this, and i am off sick for another month because i am not coping at work. just thank you and really please take care, medicine can help. i am on sertraline. though i did manage about 15 years working with no medicine. i reckon yoga would help, art, and exercise. CBT also helped me because you have to think the bad thoughts and then you are not fighting against it which may amplify ocd. i hope that makes sense. like for example, 'they say': don't think about a pink giraffe, for 3 minutes, do not think about a pink giraffe running across a zebra crossing, do not think about the pink giraffe no pink giraffes on clouds, no pink giraffes surfing, no pink giraffes on the beach, no pink giraffes eating your dog, no pink giraffes in the cracker, no pink giraffes on your christmas jumper, no pink giraffes in africa

also night time relaxing meditation cds may help calm you down and focus on thoughts that will help you win in life.

take care
