I have been on leflunomide for a few years now with no problems, slightly high blood pressure but probably my age (55), seems to work ok for me. I also take hydroxychloroquine added a couple of years ago, prior to that it was sulphasalazine. Seems to be better tolerated than MTX , I wish you luck and hope it works with no problems.
Good morning, I've just started taking leflunomide 3 weeks ago because I didn't tolerate MTX. So far, I don't notice any side effects but maybe it's too early to tell!! I am on 10mg Leflunomide daily and also 5mg Prednisolone and monthly Simponi (anti-tnf) injections.
My rheumy says Leflunomide is better tolerated that MTX by the patients he treats and I don't have high blood pressure ( but I do watch what I eat and exercise as much as I can). I am alo not feeling as sick as I did on MTX so I hope this will continue to be a success story I had thinning hair om MTX and I really really hope this will stop now that I've changed to leflunomide
Thank you, I'm going to start it on Saturday when on holiday. Both you and piglet are on other meds with leflunomide will be interesting to see if it works just by itself.
Hi, I have been on Leflunomide since May as I too had problems with MTX. I have had no side effects, at first I felt quite well but over the last few months the disease has gained momentum so due to start Enbrel at the end of the month. I have read sucessful stories on leflunomide alone so do keep your spirits up. I hope you get some relief soon.Enjoy your holiday. Love Alison xx
Thank you, hope you get on with Enbrel I was feeling really well on it till I had a virus over Christmas and it just seemed to stop working. Rheumy nurse said this can happen with RA. Feel as though I'm going backwards going back on DMARDS rather than Anti TNF but I must keep positive.
