today , i got the results from my first blood test since starting enbrel .. i started enbrel in january , and felt a differnce straight away ,, i just couldnt believe how fast it started to work ..

i wanted to wait untill i got some blood results ,, before i came on line and started telling people how wonderful this drug is , plus i didnt want to tempt fate as it started working so quick .. it all seem to good to be true ,,,, so just wanted to give it some time ,, just to make sure ,, how i was feeling .. wasnt just a good period i was going through,, and was the medication

to give you some idea .. my esr and crp have been around 50 / 60 for around 7 years .. never really moving ,, the lowest ive ever seen is about 40 and the highest about 70 .. but always been about same .. two weeks after starting enbrel ,, i was given a blood test ,, ive been given the results today .. my crp is 7 and my esr is 6 ..

i told you it wasnt in my head michelle :))))

Hi Andy,

How amazingly wonderful.

Your results and obvious top of the world feeling is making me feel very positive about enbrel, because I've just been offered Anti-tnf and have been given 4 treatments to read about and I'm leaning towards enbrel. I know that it's not entirely up to me which one will be best for me and we all react differently to treatments, but it's gone so well for you and that is really uplifting.

You must be on cloud nine, and you deserve to be. :-) June xxx

I had wondered where you disappeared to, now I know, well done, I am on the same drug as you are you taking anything else with Embrel or just that? Don't leave so long again before blogging. take care xx

I was wondering where you'd been....and had fingers crossed that it was because the Enbrel was working so you were off climbing mountains or kayaking down the Amazon. So really, really great that it's working so well, and so quickly. Shame it took so long before you were prescribed with it.

Don't vanish again entirely tho' as great to have some success stories around here.... Polly

That's brilliant news Andy, enbrel was a life saver for me too. My esr and crp were both over 100 and I noticed the difference within 3 days and my levels were all good within 2 weeks too. They have remained the same since, and this was 2 1/2 years ago ( touch wood). I hope it has the same effects on you that it did for me, it really is my miracle drug. All the best

Ant.

what great news for you, so pleased you are feeling so much better. I have been offered the opportunity to start on Enbrel at the end of March although advised to look carefully at the side effects. I am leaning towards taking it so the life I have now improves. I also take Leflunomide as Methotrixate damaged my lungs. It is hard to make these decisions regarding our medication,so to live the best we can. So thank you again for sharing your good news. Long may it continue.

Love Alison

Amazing news, long may it continue, very similiar story for me Andy, my enbrel took around 6 weeks to work but my crp has been <5 ever since (18months now) :)

Fantastic, Andy! Wow, to bring down the inflammation so fast. Hope when I start a biologic soon it does the same for me.

Ant - your story is fantastic too! I can only hope and dream for something like that.

Saw Rheumy nurse today and went through the meds and a few bits and pieces in preparation for taking. She was brilliant. Given a lot of literature about Enbrel, Humira and Simponi. It is up me she said which one of the three.

I can see from above quite a few others due to start Enbrel/biologics so let's hope we see more great results.

NK ;-)
