Starting Enbrel

I am starting Enbrel next week, already on MTX injections. Any advice from anyone out there, also how do you find it, has it helped. Have Psa and AS. I have deteriorated over the last couple of years and hoping that Enbrel might be the answer to my prayers. Would love to hear from anyone on it. Thanks in advance.

I have been on Enbrel for about eight years now and it has been wonderful. I am back on my feet and walking at least two to three miles a day [which not only helps me physically but also emotionally and spiritually]. I have had no side effects. I DO HOPE it works as well for you and you can get your life back

xx

Wow, that is amazing, there's no way I can walk that far, and I used to love walking and being outside. I have been getting worse over the last few years and cannot do loads of things so if it can work for me that will be marvellous. I am so pleased it has helped you and fingers crossed it will be the same for me and no side effects. thank you so much. xx

I would be thrilled to know it works as well for you as it does for me. All good wishes xx

I have been on Enbrel for about 6 years now with great results and no side effects. I sometimes get an itchy lump where I inject but it disappears within a few days and isn't intrusive. (I understand it's simply a reaction to the preservative). It has been brilliant for me and hope you get the same results. Best wishes. Jude

Hi Jude,

Thanks for your reply - so pleased it has helped you and thanks for the info. I hope it works for me, sort of looking forward to it in a weird way!

I gave myself my first Enbrel injection on Tuesday (a nurse came out to make sure I knew what I was doing) and it is having an effect already. Fair enough I`m still in pain, but less than I was Tuesday morning, and the swelling has started to go down. I am hopeful I will feel much much better soon.

Good luck!

Nice to know thwe swelling is going down, my fingers have got terribly swollen of late, only had my rings made bigger (for the 3rd time!) in March and cannot get them on again.

I had to take my ring off, but it's back on again now. I doubt they will ever go to the 5 sizes smaller they were last year though.

I have been on Enbrel for about 5 months. Also take MTX injections. I notice that I get very hot on and off. It's not bad and I didn't mention it to my rheumatologist. I found that I am doing much better! Would not want to stop taking it. I'm in a flare up right now.im pretty sure it's a fibromyalgia issue.
