Only just been able to type today. Got up this morning having had a cold and cough for the last 4/5 days, bent over and coughed and something went pop in my right side over my ribs. Managed to see GP and he said I've pulled muscles in my chest over my ribs. I am in agony and unable to take strong pain meds. Just take paracetamol 4 times a day and pregabalin for my Fibro. Going to bed now with an hot water bottle, see if that helps. Great start to 2013.

There seems to be something going around as I have had it since Sunday. A hacking cough which is keeping me up at night, a painful chest, wheezing etc. Seeing GP today to check whether I have any infection. With being asthmatic, they usually see me pretty promptly. So I hope you feel better soon. At the moment, I feel pretty awful and not felt this bad since I had the flu in the epidemic in 1989. LavendarLady x
Sorry you are feeling rough too, hope you get sorted soon, I have asthma too, but he checked my chest and said there was no infection. My cough is very dry a rasping which probably caused the muscle to pop.
Take care, gentle hugs to all

Sorry to learn this Jan and Lavender Lady - i do hope you both recover soon. Tilda xx
I went back to work today after the xmas break - lots away before xmas with bad colds or tummy upsets and lots still not back as not recovering.
Do take extra care, rest as much as possible - I have learnt when I ended up with horrendous flare cause I tried to muddle on with the cold and sore throat.
Thanks to all who replied to me, I am still in a lot of pain, but did manage a few hours sleep last night. Not feeling up to much and no appetite whatsoever.
GPhas confirmed a nasty chest infection so loaded up with antibiotics, mild steroids to open the airways and a decongestant liquid. Chest hurts everytime I breathe and I could hear the rattles, squeaks and wheezes myself every time I coughed. Now on all the meds for 7 days so no MTX or Enbrel until next week at the earliest but I suppose the mild steroid pills will help with that. LavendarLady x
