not stupid at all josie. esa = employment support allowance. it replaced incapacity benefit for people on long term sickness benefit. you have to apply for it and prove you are "worthy" of it. There are 2 levels -
1 support where you are not expected to be able to work in the forseeable future;
2 work related activity group [wrag] here you are considered to be well enough to ork soon and have to attend the job centre for regular assessments.
I have severe health conditions that prevent any hope of work, but was put in the wrag group.
Good news Sandra, it is always worth sticking up for yourself.

It must be a fantastic relief to finally have your condition recognised and validated.
We all live so much on the edge at the moment with the changes in legislation and as I have blogged in the past, I think that the extra strain we are being put under as a result is totally unacceptable.
Well done to you. I hope this means you can breathe easier. Judy xxxxx
Congratulations Sandra, that is brilliant news. I currently have an outstanding appeal for ESA and I know it's stressful having to worry about it. Well done
i had to ring them today reguarding my income support, well lack of it !! they stopped my income support when i was changed over to esa, without telling me that if you claimed the new esa, you are not entitled to claim income support......and at the end of the phone call, he had great delight in informing me that D.L.A.is changing next year, so we will have to all be reassessed all over again......where will it all end eh ????
