Red light therapy works for me

It seems crazy to me but it works. I bought a cheap red light after reading a post by Jules13. Thanks Jules!! She had said it lessened her pain.

I was diagnosed last June but had been having problems since February. I was also diagnosed when I was a teenager but didn't have problems again until now. I am now 51. In February I suddenly felt like I was 90. I hurt so bad having covers on when I slept hurt. Walking hurt. Trying to get off the toilet was extremely painful on my knees. I have it everywhere. Holding the steering wheel while driving hurt. You get the picture.

Had terrible reactions and ended up in the ER after taking DMARDs. Got scared to try another so I went holistic.

I take an enzyme and collagen in the morning. And I use my red light every day. I tried to do research on it and really couldn't find any. So I just randomly put it on the joints that hurt the most. I do it for 30 minutes everyday. Then my joints stopped hurting. So I do it on my neck where a main artery is and on the center of my chest. I read since RA is autoimmune disease using the light on the bloodstream is probably the best idea (no research done).

I took the light over to my sister to show her and forgot it. I didn't go back to get it immediately. After 3 days of not using it, I flared and missed work. Went on steroids & pain meds to get over the flare. Needless to say - I went and got my light back. I haven't missed a day of use since. I am once again 99% pain free.

I also dropped sweets from my diet (except coke). I'm addicted to coca cola and can't seem to stop it completely. It's my one vice.

I'm not trying to sell red lights & obviously since this disease effects everyone different it may not work for you.

To me - my $30 red light is a miracle.

Is this some kind of infra red light?

Yes - the description: Infrared Heating Device and Now Stronger New 10W Bulb with a Extra Replacement Bulb Included

Yes - I figured it was worth $30 to see if it worked. For me - it isn't a matter of believing it would work. I really didn't. I was just desperate.

I'm chuffed for you that it helps. I wonder if it would also help with sciatic/lumbar pain?

Most of what I read said it was for muscle pain/injuries. I have a friend who is doing it at a health spa - supposed to make her skin look younger. Who knows what it'll help? Worth a try.

Ha, would be great if it made my skin look younger. That would take a miracle though, I think! :)

If it works for you then don't knock it! Let us know if this success keeps up (hope it does for your sake!)

Don't ask why it works for you, just be very happy that it does. I'm thrilled you are feeling so much better and long may it continue. Hugs

So pleased for you, and hope it continues. I think anything that works is worthwhile. You mention an enzyme and collagen. What do you take?

Wobenzyme N (I take 2) & I can't remember the brand of collagen. But I take 1 tablet a day. Both say to take more but I'm too sensitive and can't handle more. Plus, less is working for me.

Hi I bought an infrared heating device from Lloyds Pharmacy whilst I was in York in 2016 ashamed to say I have only tried it for a short time, mainly because it’s too heavy to hold to get the heat to parts of the body but after listening to other people will have to have another try, really need to get some ease of some kind

I don't think it's the heat. I have a heating blanket on most of the time at work - and it didn't help my knees, hips, etc. I think it has something to do with the light rays. Mine doesn't really get very hot. I did see some that you didn't have to hold. It's an option.
