Infusion day afterwards..............

Well i got home just before one. I didn't back into the discharge ward until nearly midday. Hubby came to fetch after the canula was taken out and i was told to rest the rest of the day, which i did(ha ha ha i know what your all thinking, yee right) well i was a good girl for once in my life. To be honest i felt very tired afterwards so i did nothing. Had a early bath and bed as i felt very uncomfortable downstairs. I rested in bed and fell asleep soon after ten. I was awake just after four and came down here and had a cup of tea.

Well here is the miracle, it didn't hurt to turn over in bed at all. What pain i am suffering from now is very minor compared to what i had before the infusion. I have some nerve pain going down my right leg from the compressed disc. I didn't expect to be completely pain free and i am not,but i have very little pain and it is mainly from the back. I feel so much brighter and optomistic to be honest. I know i won't be able to go at life lie a bull in a china shop because of all thats wrong with me,but i will be able to do a little bit more than i have been doing. If i can sleep i have always said i can cope and what sleepi had last night was good.

I would highly reccomend getting a lidocaine infusion if it is offered to any of you. I am looking foward to a few weeks of being able to move with very little pain. Hugs to you all.xxxxx

So glad you have managed to find some relief at last been a long time coming!

Just heed the bull and china shop advice.it will mean that you can do what you have been doing without so much pain but be careful about taking on any extra tasks etc- I know what you're like ,

Pleased its started well and that you got a good nights rest its half the battle.

Stay well,take care.

I remember that moment when I could roll over! I used to feel like a beached whale. So great that the infusion has worked for you.

I have three compressed/damaged/bulging discs in my lower back and what has made the biggest difference is exercises. I do about 10 stretching exercises every day now, which are so simple it's hard to believe they make such a difference - but they do. So now you're not in so much pain I really recommend you talk to your GP about starting some. I started with these NHS ones, and can now do others.
