Sat here waiting for my body to catch up with my mind...... whistling... show me the way to go home.
I should be with me girlies by now... Old RH will be wondering where I am. Can't contact him, he has left his mobile home... ninny.
Did my rebounding, rehydrated with my lemon water, got a big bowl of cereal, sunflower seed, pumpkin seed, shaved coconut and soya nuts.... phew... mind whirring, body - given up!
I slept from around 8 last night until around quarter to nine this morning. The sleep of the "not so alive". Just interrupted sleep this morning around 5 when daughter's boyfriend started his turbo charged "something or other up" to go to work, (I had left my window open)
RH obviously woke up and went - never heard a thing - mind you I never heard him come to bed either, but I'm sure he was there at one point.
Daughter is in a panic, because she is going away at the weekend and has to work right up to the moment and always needs about 3 days to pack (for two days away!) bless.
Son and heir has gone to work for the local dairy farm today, is milking tonight so won't be home until 9.30 - another 14 hour day and he's only 18, bless.
Me - well I think I've got a cold? And it's true that before RA I hardly ever had a cold. I thought it was my robust and healthy lifestyle, but apparently it could be my robust and now arch enemy immune system??? Gee thanks...
Just spent 25 mins on phone to benefits agency, applying for employment and support - replaces incapacity apparently. Nice lady who had had Methotrexate for another disease which she had and told me to take care , bless.
Just had a phone call from the OT saying I had slipped through the net - just my flippity luck. Started blubbing down the phone, feeling sorry for myself. I think, well, when I hear what other people have gone through with RA and I am not nearly so bad as that, I feel like I am making a fuss over nothing. But I can't wok without getting myself in a pickle and my wrists hurting,... oh bugger it. So now I shall go and finish off my brekkie pull myself together and go and have a shower. After yesterday's performance in the bath, better to have a shower. Attishoo....
Ah Julie what a lovelly blog its great hearing about your family. Are you going to the NRAS do at the end of June. I would like to go but dont want to arrive there knowing no one. Its quite a drive there for me and I may need a crane to get me out of the car at the other end. Mind you I think you may live a long way from Warwickshire too so maybe you arent going. Well off to the tip now the fun never stops. Lol. Look after yourself. Sharon
Thank you Sharon. I find it very therapeutic to blurb on here. It is quite lonely around here. No-one about to talk to, and you don't always want to yammer on to the family, so in that respect I miss the company of work mates.
Yes I am going, god willing, and if take care of myself, it is a long drive, but am meeting up with Alison at Gloucestershire to break the journey and she has very kindly invited me to stay the night. So then we will move on to Warwick the next day, so should be ok. It is a problem you feel fine going along, then you go to get out and oh heck, frozen limbs!
You certainly know how to enjoy yourself, off tothe tip eh??
You take care too Julie xx
Hi Julie
Rebounding - I bought one and I cannot find the book that goes with it, the grandaughters were here and have tidied it away, it will turn up eventually!!
What do you do on it and for how long?
Sue x
Hi Sue,
Well all you do to start with is:
Get on!
Feet shoulder width apart.
Relax body
Bend knees very slightly,
Then the book says "think bounce and you will bounce!" and you do.
Feet do not come off the ground and you literally go up and down at your own pace for initially only 30 secs! Time it carefully.
The first time if you do manage to go over the 30 secs note at which point your body is telling you you have had enough. Could be say 40 or 50 secs and then that's as much as you do, at least three times a day but you can do this as many times a you like. But listen to your body and leave at least 30 mins between each session. Simples!
Be aware if there is any tension in calf muscles, small of back or shoulders, stop. Be aware of your shoulders when you bounce - keep them loose baby!
That'll do for starters, hope you find your book. I have the Margaret Hawkins "Rebounding for Health" book. Don't do what the book and DVD's say that come with it, that's for healthy people
Phew I'm exhausted just writing about it. I've not done too much because I have been feeling really poo since I got back last Friday.
Good luck Wonkers, but take care
Julie xx

Hi Julie, great blogg as per normal, I don't need a bouncer I too am exhausted just reading about it. That's why you slept so well all that rebounding !!
I cannot get hold of a second hand rebounder...why do people always have local pick up for such things and always live a million miles away?! I can't wait to get one and do some much needed exercise! I also have a cold and feel rough today so can sympathise with you on that one. Hope you feel better soon xx
