Hi NRAS hivemind, does anyone have recommendations for holiday insurance companies for RA and other medical conditions? Thank you
Travel Insurance: Hi NRAS hivemind, does anyone have... - NRAS
Travel Insurance

Hi.We use All Clear. We don't do it online but by phone. It takes a while, but we have more confidence when speaking to a person. I have multiple health issues as does my husband. I'm sure you will get lots of suggestions from the lovely people on here.
I wish you all the best and happy holidays.

I use direct line and have used others in the past. They do run through everything on the phone and are very helpful and efficient and fast when you make claims Nowadays I don't cover my RA and other health issues as now I'm older its too expensive You can ask for a price to cover the RA and one without and then decide
Does your bank do one, we go with Nationwide and it's just a top up and covers all our medical questions. Its very easy they ring and ask the questions then its calculated. Good value.
We have this too and it compares very well with other travel insurance companies despite having to top it up for RA and world cruising. 👍
Yes we found it good value and they were very helpful, I spent my £50 bonus yesterday on new jeans. lol
Excellent choice. I’m taking mine on holiday to treat myself. Off to Sydney with him-indoors on Friday to cruise around Australia and New Zealand 😃 🧳
I use All clear as have heart condition also.
I have used All Clear for many years now, through Cancer treatment and RA amongst many other health conditions. We buy an Annual policy, works out much better value.
I use the packaged bank insurance with Barclays. Asked a question about my health and listed RA and it was accepted. No extra costs. It does depend on a few things though such as impending operations and if you have had any joint replacements etc which I haven’t. X
Hi Lucena, we have just taken out a multi trip annual policy with RAC via go.compare.Even though I only take methotrexate for my RA, I have to declare previous breast cancer treatment, mild asthma and anxiety (though that one is only lurking at the moment 🤞😂).
They seem very competitive against the others we looked at directly on their websites (saga, tesco etc).
I’ve also used AllClear, I have many health conditions. Even so, I found it very easy doing mine online. I’ve never had to claim. I wouldn’t advise not declaring certain conditions. It can become very expensive, very quickly.
Staysure
We use Staysure and can pay monthly.
All Clear Which? Best buy and voted no1 for customer care
Another vote for Staysure.
I use just travel it’s a comparison website and we’ve just booked our weeks cruise insurance and it cost £80 and hubby and I have several health conditions including cancer in the past. We could have got it cheaper but opted for ‘Gold’ cover with a company we’ve heard of. Easy to do online and if you have any questions there’s a phone line you can use.
I've just taken out an annual policy with 'Payingtoomuch' which was reasonable for all my health issues & my husband's heart failure diagnosis.
We have annual worldwide insurance including cruise cover, are over 70 and both have multiple health issues. We rarely use the same insurer every year because I always check with a comparison website, though we don't buy the cheapest but the best cover. This year we're with Insure and Go (last year too), but we've also been covered by Staysure, All Clear and Avanti amongst others over the last few years.
Avanti same company as Staysure
I have used Insure and Go before they were very helpful.
My friend recently broke her leg abroad and it cost her £6000 to get home!No insurance !So better safe than sorry 😢
We use World Nomads. Be sure to read the fine print. It definitely varies by country of residence and destination(s). There are different levels of coverage, as well. Best wishes.
I have used stay sure for last 2 years, but quote for renewal premium has increased too much, so will be shopping around for this year.
I use goodtogo insurance all one word I have psoriatic arthritis.emphesyma. asthma osteoarthritis.and hypertension it only cost me around £150 to go to Tunisia in September . Enjoy your holiday ☺️
Hi I've just insured through Insure and Go, I am 71 and RA diabetes, it cost about £60 which i thought was quite good. Don't forget your GHIC card for health cover too, which is required as well as travel insurance.
