Hi everyone, unusual question, no harm in asking. Can anyone recommend a reasonable travel insurance for those with RD. Need to renew mine, but now have RD. Thanks.
Hope everyone has a relaxed pain free Christmas .

I’ve an annual policy with Aviva which works well for Mr B & I. We both have medical conditions declared & it’s just over £200
I use Aviva too !
I’ve been thinking about that... if drug infusions work, I want to go to Thailand and visit my eldest and his family. I’ll be looking up Aviva, thanks all!
Took out policy with Aviva for an indiv one week holiday. 3 days after taking out policy OH hospitalised very ill. When recovered not allowed to fly. Aviva paid up promptly.
I use SAGA. The premium is reasonable as I have 3 declarable conditions (£150 for annual for a couple ) . Their service is great. The companies who specialise in medical insurance always quote higher premiums and the cover is the same. Happy travelling
Try Staysure premium I think was £120 for Europe no cruising no winter sports. We are both in our sixties with declared conditions.
Lovely cat 🐈 Try All Clear I use them and very reasonably xx
This is to everybody not just Tiverland.
At this time of year a lot of people are looking at brochures ,or online and booking their summer holidays.
Please don’t buy travel insurance just because it is cheap.... & remember you really must buy your travel insurance as soon as you confirm your booking, & pay your deposit.
If you fall sick next week & it turns out you can’t go on that holiday.....if you haven’t insured you will not be covered, & you will have to pay for your holiday even if you’re not able to go.
When choosing your travel insurance & declaring all your medical conditions ....make 100% certain what the policy offers covers your needs.
£50 spent now could save you thousands.
I do know I go on about this...but because we get our treatment in the UK on the NHS .... free at point of use .....we cannot comprehend how much a consultation & a few pills can cost...often a heck of a lot more than good travel insurance.
Also....if travelling in the EU .....do get the European Health Insurance Card.
The majority of travel insurance companies will not pay up in full if you do not have this card. From what I have read we will still have this card after 31 January 2020 when we leave the EU....but do you ask your travel insurance company when you buy insurance what the situation is because they should have all the up to date information.
Sorry to be boring....but the wrong travel insurance can be a very expensive “economy”.
Hi. You are so right. We buy annually and are covered until 1/1/20. Our usual one has put prices up £100 without yet declaring. My RA. Just wandered what was out there. But good solid advice. Thank you
I seem to have gathered four A4pages of”health conditions”....Although they actually have on it, arthritis,x 3 , they also put on every year that I broke my arm as a separate condition, whereas in fact I only broke it once. I did question this and the agent said that is how the company do it ...so as as I only paid £156 for 2019/20, for an annual policy , and as I have been with the company for about 15 years I get a discount for every year I haven’t claimed, so I continue with them.I have claimed twice and they were excellent paying every penny without a murmur.
This last Policy did turn out to be expensive last year because I only managed to get 2 holidays in but the year before I went away I think four times and then it was only £120 so that worked out at only £30 per three week holiday which I consider that very reasonable.
Hoping to be off to the sunshine in February...... Just hope Brexit doesn’t raise its ugly head!
We use just travel insurance they’re very good and reasonable I have my RA and previous cancer covered and OH has his skin cancer covered it’s like money supermarket they will give you quotes from several companies and then you can chose which one suits you best we always get a gold standard cover not the basic because then there isn’t usually a excess either. We’ve used them for cruises and been to USA too.
I've used Staysure, with three declared autoimmune conditions. I can't remember exactly how much it was for a 2-person, one-week holiday in Holland but I know it was reasonable.
Thanks. This is the one we usually use but prices have gone up.
