Thanks. I've seen people wearing these and was considering if they would work. Have been debating a pair of merry people boots for walking but they are £100 too.
Only issue is mud isn't good for them....and where I walk is definitely muddy. My wellies are a permanent feature in my car and are generally dirty. I take the dogs out every morning...they run ..I hobble and listen to podcasts.
Oh really? They would certainly need to do mud..a stylish boot maybe for a no mud dog walk, but I wouldn’t get the wear out of them..will stick to my Skechers! Same here with the hobble and listen to my book!
Not enought support podiatry does recommend them not enough support for ankles.I wear them short periods if feet are really bad I found quality in uk also poor compared to buying them years ago in United States. Fitflop do a boot similar with more support
They look great, I had some Ugg boots a good few years ago & they were really comfy. I wear Fit Flop slippers now & toe post sandals in the summer as slippers & on holiday, I won't show my feet otherwise unless to strangers as I've had the comment "how do you walk when you're feet look like chicken feet?" The Fit Flop sandals are great for you're feet & so comfy with the wobble board technology in the soles, which helps with balance too & no thin soles to feel the stones through! My feet are so sensitive & deformed now so I need wide fitting & my boots & shoes are from Hotter where you can sometimes get extra wide too. I will look out for those Ugg slippers though as look very cosy.
I live in long sheepskin boots and long boot slippers. I use a long handled shoe horn bought from Ikea years ago because one foot is bigger than the other. 🙄😂
Since I've had RA I've become addicted to Skechers as they're so comfortable. I've just bought my first pair of their winter boots. Not the most stylish boots I've ever had but soooo comfortable
thanks for this. Have just ordered some Sketchers slip ins and I have been desperately trying to find some footwear which doesnt' cause me more pain. These look good.
hi Glad you have found something comfortable…there’s lots of shoe envy on this forum, lol
Like others have said, sometimes podiatrists don’t like very soft shoes, especially if they feel your foot needs more support. I have been struggling to find a winter shoe that would take my custom made orthotics. The width wasn’t so much a problem as the depth - almost every shoe I tried wasn’t deep enough causing them to slip up and down.
Anyway I am pleased to say I have found some! DB wider fit shoes, not only do the width but also have two insoles inside which can be removed for your own insoles/orthotics. They sell online but I got mine from a little disability aids shop in Sandbach. The lady there was so knowledgeable and ordered in four pairs for me try (she only has a limited stock due to space). I have now got some very nice, comfortable ankle boots with a stylish Velcro fastening.
Hi. I found Emu brand are better for me. Sheepskin lined. They do waterproof too. The are more solid at the back with moulded cups so they don’t collapse like Uggs. So warm and comfy. I have slippers and boots as my feet get cramp a lot due to PMR. Have a good day.😊
