if you’re stopping meds for infections then some people can flare quite quickly when they’re off meds. Just do the usual things that help you when you flare, you might find some other ideas to help in this publication
Interesting. I nearly always get a flare up after a virus. My poor knees are swollen after a weird bug that included a cough, diarrhea and a temperature. A gift from the devil himself!
I find when I’m ill with a virus etc my arthritis behaves beautifully even though I’ve stopped meds . Get better restart meds full flare .. I think it’s because when ill body is fighting a real infection so joints etc get a break . Get better immune system is then looking for something to fight and unfortunately it’s our own bodies that gets attacked
Please get in touch with your rheumatology team and let them know….otherwise they will think everything is ok. Sorry you’re having this problem; try the usual “helpers”…heat or cold treatment (or alternate), paracetamol, rest and take care of yourself!
I get flares post stopping MTX for infections have learned that it's best to contact RA dept and get an intramuscular steroid injections. Used to wait few weeks in the hope resuming MTX but never has so far, so now ring advice line sooner rather than later.
Strep throat knocks me down every time my son brings home the flavor of the week I get severely flared. It’s what made me start shots, and really trust my Rheumatologist. Prednisone now. You may want to bug your dr. Mine took me off Humira for severe e because I needed prednisone after 3 months on Humira. I am on Enbrel now, hoping 3 months is a bit better.
