was seen this morning by the locum I saw last time ..( love this man) . He said department down to one nurse but 8 consultants. He is also doing the nurses jobs. He personally emailed the hospital pharmacy even though told him secretary emailed them but he said he wanted to make sure . Gave me 6 months MTX prescription and arranged a 3 month appointment.

This next one blew me away . He said if I have trouble getting prescriptions in future just turn up at clinic or send a member or friend of the family and request it at the desk and will write out a prescription. Also said in having problems trying to get an appointment is too difficult just turn up at clinic and he will see me . He said he says this to all patients. I asked if he would be my rheumatologist but he said they won’t employ him permanently but it doesn’t look like he is going anywhere at the moment and he wants to be there for his patients. He speaks English with a bit of difficulty and think he may have been an immigrant from a war torn country . I am so delighted to have him as my doctor he knows is stuff . Hospital would be a foolish not to offer him a position.

Good result .

Yes, we really have to be proactive. I’m so glad you’ve got results. I’ve just done my rheumy team an email for things outstanding which need to be addressed. My rheumy team are mostly very fast to get back to you and do things. It’s the meds company/their pharmacy that scupper things lately. Well done to you and your excellent locum! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

One of the rheumy nurses called me yesterday re the 2 RTX infusions I had in July.

She said they had a record of my first visit but not the second and wanted to confirm that I'd actually been treated!

Clearly a lack of communication between departments somewhere, which I've often thought is one of the major issues within the NHS.

Also odd, because soon after my second visit, I received a date for the follow up appointment due in 12 week's time so they must have known I'd been?

That's encouraging to hear J, let's hope they keep him on.
