I’ve had a bad 6 week’s multiple skin infections after my rtx infusion then an almighty flare and peripheral neuropathy raging. Walking impossible. Rang my clinic left message to ring back. A nurse rang back I can’t see any senior nurse as they have left my rheumatologist has also left and there is no replacement. They have different locums coming in . When I asked if I could see on who was actually a rheumatologist I was told they are trying their best…. Really doesn’t bode well. So effectively I have no care.
One of my sons came back from canada. He had been diagnosed with ADHD over there with great care. He can’t get his meds on the nhs unless seen by a nhs psychiatrist . There is a 2 year waiting list minimum. He is now in a shocking mess with no support form the nhs . I eventually found a decent private psychiatrist but jumping through hoops to get certain tests by his Gp. There is light at the end of the tunnel but it’s a different medication just waiting for the final bits to fall into place. So far this has taken 8 weeks. He is trying desperately to keep his job but he is struggling.
Next hubby had an elevated heart rate on Wednesday morning while working in Scotland. He didn’t tell me and drove home 🤯🤯🤯🤯 we will leave it there!! I rang an ambulance as soon as he walked in the door.. a7 hr wait for an ambulance. I took him to A&E . We were seen quickly but no beds or heart monitors available. He has an iPhone watch and they were monitoring on that on and off. He was eventually moved to resus staff lovely but they had no stores of equipment and were running round to different departments trying to find blood sample bottles etc . Eventually saw a doctor. Meds given but heart rate up and down . I went home then they moved him to a chair in the internal A&E . Again no monitor so he had to find a nurse to say heart rate elevated. No food or drinks for anyone in this area . He was there for 16 hours other patients longer. Nurse that was in resus came back on duty and saw hubby and said why are you still here. Looked at his watch and demanded someone attend him . He said I’m very thirsty. When she found out none of them had any food or drinks there was hell to pay. Back in resus more meds then told he would be discharged with meds and a prescription. moved to the main A&E area with all the … nutters my husbands quote. He was given a prescription but no meds as they didn’t have any. While he was waiting for discharge papers I rang several pharmacies and none stocked these meds eventually found out it was taken off the market in February. Heart rate went sky high again before I told him and back in resus . Eventually got a bed In ambulatory he has been moved 3 times keeps missing meals . We are trying to get him home with meds but he only saw a doctor for the second time this morning so won’t hold our breath. I’m at breaking point with the nhs as are the nursing staff most of which are agency nurses . More money less hours less responsibilities but at the patients cost.
Rant over I’m bloody knackered.
