hi all. The nurse rang last week to say that my liver results had improved somewhat but were still outside normal range. Because I have such active disease she didn’t want to leave me with no meds at all, so we decided to restart the leflunomide and see how the blood results go in two week, then make another plan. So took my mum off to Blackpool to a lovely hotel for a few days. She’s six weeks post op, having had a complex knee replacement and is doing amazingly well. Op a total success and she’s walking better than she has in years. We had a lovely time, while Mr Spin was working away at home.
After four days on LEF I came home but had a scratchy throat…the next morning I woke up with full on COVID and I’ve been in bed for three days feeling mighty rotten. Of course this means that I’ve stopped the LEF so my immune system is now having a party. If it would confine itself to partying with the Covid I’d be very grateful as I still feel terrible. I last has Covid in 2022 before I had RA and I’ve had the jabs, but this feels brutal! Mum has it too but says she just has a sore throat and a headache…I’m glad she’s not too bad as she lives alone. Mr Spin has been waiting on me, bless him…I think he preferred it when I was away lol.
Anyway, I’m sure it will be over soon and I can get back on the medication train and find out where I’m going! Spin xx

Its horrid,I hate having to work out what not to take when I’m taking the rescue antibiotics, I get so forgetful that I write on the antibiotic packet when I’ve taken them to avoid confusion.
Never rains.☹️ Really bad luck to get Covid after having a good break with your mum - it’s like the Monty Python foot comes and stamps on your head because you’re having a better time of it!
Hope you’re getting over the misery that is Covid and all it brings with it though make sure you don’t tell Mr Spin too quickly you’re feeling up to doing things for yourself - always nice to have the butler at the end of a bell……….😄 X
I’m suffering from COVID too had a massive temperature for 3 days but decided to ride it out without antivirals this time as they were just the worst. I’m 10 days post infection and still don’t have any energy. I managed to get mine from my other half after he visited his mum in hospital, he didn’t know he had got it so not even as a result of a trip away. I’m supposed to be starting a new biologic but once again have to delay, what with one thing and another I’ve already had to pause for 2 months. Fingers crossed I can start it soon. Hope you feel better quickly and can restart some meds soon without issue. Covid is rotten isn’t it ?
Oh Leics I feel for you, I really do. Yes it is rotten and I feel much worse than I did in 22. I hope you get to start your new meds as soon as possible. I have no idea where my meds journey is going to take me, but this certainly isn’t helping! Good luck to you, I hope your energy picks up soon.
Such a shame after a lovely break with your mum. I hope you are better soon. I'm just getting over chickenpox for the second time in adulthood. It wasnt as severe as the first time around, but I didnt feel well and still dont feel totally right.
Im due to have another covid vaccination tomorrow and I'm unsure whether to have it as I'm a bit low at the moment. Also, I'm thinking whether the covid vaccinations have caused my heart issues.
Thank you. I'm laid up with flu or covid now. Hopefully I'll bounce back soon. I think I'm run down with my daughters A-levels as well as finishing writing my book and it's taken a toll on me x
Ugh, covid here too for the first time since RA diagnosis, feeling really rough, 3rd day in bed and going on holiday to Gran Canaria on Monday too so 🙏 that it's gone by then and oh doesn't get it 😞
Check with your Rheumatologist if you might be able to take milk thistle, this is known to help support your liver. Note not all medics like complementary medicine.
