I have had the disappointing call today to say liver results have got worse so I’m to cease all medication with immediate effect. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement, I was tolerating both MTX and LEF well (or so I thought). The nurse said to take a break then try again if the readings come down but if it happens a second time, it’s back to the drawing board. As the consultant ruled out other dmards for various reasons it may be biologics next, who knows!
Anyway not much use surmising I suppose, I just need to do as you all say and follow the journey. I just thought I’d update those who have been kind in showing an interest. x

Fingers crossed and I'm surprised it's MTX and LEF as for me the LEF was stopped as it replaced the MTX. I now have AZA and Etanercept it works well. All part of the journey. xx
Sorry to hear, I understand your disappointment, and the apprehension of things escalating. Perhaps the rheumy would give you a steroid injection if needed to settle things down. My Gp practice are able to do ultrasounds at the surgery, and gave me a liver ultrasound when my levels were high from Azathioprine. Perhaps worth exploring if it’s on offer at your surgery. May give you peace of mind 🤗
I'm sorry that you've had that disappointing news - it's tough to swallow. But, your liver is an amazing organ and can recover. So, on and upwards as your journey takes a side turning. There are so many different meds out there; there will be something for you, I'm sure.
That’s a shame & disappointing for you. It maybe a short will be enough as our livers recover quickly. If not Biologics can be used without Methotrexate. I had to stop Methotrexate 10 years ago & have Biologics on their own. 🤞things settle.
Different drugs suit different people. I had escalating liver function and ever decreasing red blood cells on Methotrexate and was switched to Mychophenalate which works for me. These trials are all part of the journey. There's a drug out there with your name on it.
