Liver issues

Off all medications at present due to my liver playing up...urgh it’s so frustrating, I thought I had found the right medication but no the Infliximab was slowly hurting my liver.

The Rhumey stopped the sulphalazine & hydroxychloroquine first and after more blood tests (7 vials thought the phlebotomists was never stopping) my ALT was still around 155.

Just been to have an US scan of my liver, should know the results next week, then if all ok we can discuss the next steps.

The pain, though it never went, is un bearable in my hands again, still must stay positive as I weighed myself today and I am still loosing weight 94kg down from 100kg in January, just wish I could exercise to help it out.

Sorry to heAr biologics etc affect your liver. They say it recovers when the drug/s stop. But are you not getting any relief e.g. Prednisolone? It is easier on the liver than prednisone.

Yeah I was benefiting from the biologics, but I guess I need my liver never mind will see what they say.

Hi sorry to hear your problem with your medication I was on inflixamab for several years this stopped working for me with a CRP of 126 I then started taking Baricitinib (Olumiant) in tablet form, CRP down to 6 the blood test prior to this was 7. I’m also still taking Methotrexate 18mg weekly. I hope you find a medication that works for you.

Thanks, I wasn’t able to take methotrexate as that hurt my liver too. I’m glad you found something to help.
