Hello, I’m starting a treatment with sulfazaline because after of 5 years or taking hidroxicloriquine, it wasn’t work for me anymore.
I started with a low dosis of 5 days one pill then 5 more days with one every 12 hours and now I’m taking one pill of 500mg every 8 hours (I’m in the 4th day of takin this dosis )but I’m still suffering a lot of pain and stiffness all over my body.
Any ideas from the ones that have sulfazaline for treatment?

As you've not been on it for a week yet be prepared for up to 12 weeks before starting any benefit. I've been on it for 18 years together with a biological. I take 6 per day.
Thanks Sylvi! I have to be patient 😊, I’m just want to this works for me because I had breast cancer 5 years ago and my Dr doesn’t want to recommend methotrexate
As with all DMARDs it can take up to 12 weeks to work and you’re not even taking a full dose yet. The standard dose for RA is 4 (500mg) tablets every day, however quite a lot of people take 6 and I take 8. Don’t give up yet and take comfort that if necessary the dose can be tweaked.
I’ve been on hidroxicloroquina for 2 years and pain and stiffness continues. I was in Mexico for 4 months getting biological treatment (cimzia) it was ok for the first 3 shots every 2 weeks . Instead of improving my symptoms got worse (I was also undergoing ivf at the time) my rheumy added meticortene and sulfazadine. I’ve been taking all for the last month and my pain is worse than ever. I’m now only on hidroxicloroquina since 3 days ago to see how I feel ..
I hope the new treatment does work for you - my doctor is quite surprised nothing seems to work for me at all .. most of her patients are in remission ..
Hi. Haven’t tried methotrexate as I’ve also been tying to get pregnant and that one is not safe for it. Will need to try more combinations until getting it right .
It never worked for me just made me feel very sick and i my weight dropped so had to come off it but lots of people do well on it hope you get good results with it.
