I have Psoaratic Arthritis and have been battling dry red scaly patches on my face. On google it does look like Psoriasis.Anyone else have this problem, and what are they using? My pharmacist has advised Epaderm which is working I think.

Hi Vonniesims. I have psoriatic arthritis and I have psoriasis and I had psoriasis on my face. The dermatologist prescribed me Protopic 0.1% and after a few days it all disappeared and never came back, except that I am on Methotrexate and it helps me a lot on the skin.
Hi.. I also have pso.art. And sometimes spot on my face. My doc suggested Elidel. Don't know if it is called the same where you live? I'm in Denmark 🇩🇰 It is without prescription and it worked fantastic! Less than a week then it was gone. Have also used it on invers pso. Same result. It contains something called Pimecrolimus.
I hope you find something that works for you! Best wishes 💞
Hi my husband has a PsA diagnosis and suffered from red inflammed skin/platelets especially to his face. If he experiences too much stress whether physical or emotional or a lack of sleep he still can have a flare. Over the years what we've found is consistency helps so applying the right type of moisturiser at least twice a day is the key. Aveeno do a great range of creams for the face. Once it's under control you may be able to opt for just the Calm and Restore cream which really helps to maintain the lipid layer of the skin. We have a saying in our house that a cream will only work if its used and can't work if its left in the pot! Aveeno also do a gentle non stripping facial wash too, so I'd use this prior to one of their creams. You could also look into red light laser treatments. These have come a long way and its now possible to obtain one for home use. Some of the better ones contain more than just red light, so I'd look into this too. All the best, hope these ideas work well for you too.
I too have psoriasis. It's flared up on my arms and legs recently. Have you tried plain old tallow? It doesn't smell and you can add a bit of essential oil to it.
