I’m 2 months into my methotrexate treatment for psoriasis, mostly on My palms and tops of hands..
I’ve heard that you can’t be out in sunlight, and I’m always outdoors skateboarding, running and doing other activities /yard work, and idont exactly have the option of putting sunscreen over my Psoriasis, anything other than Vaseline irritates my skin..I’ve read stories of people being out in the sun for less than 15 min and end8ng up with rashes blisters.and severe sunburn, nevermind 2-3 hours .. :S ..this disease is rlly taking its toll, now this..
winters here consist of LOTs of snow and FReeZIng weather, so when spring comes and summer, I’m gonna want to naturally soak up the sun.....I feel so screwed here, And the sunlight and heat is good for my skin and I can’t reap the benefits,..only the benefits of their cancer causing Cheemo methotrexate crap...

You should talk to your health care provider about your worries about sun exposure. Sunshine makes psoriasis better!
According to the methotrexate information that I had, it just said to be cautious about sun exposure - and when I was on it, I certainly behaved as normal going outside but not doing anything stupid like sunbathing.
Hey Jeff
Methotrexate is light sensitive but I think you will be fine here in the UK. You need some sunlight to get vit d. I’ve been on mtx 20 years and the only time I’ve had a rash is when I went to Bulgaria on holiday and it was hot.
I am on methotrexate for Polymyalgia and have been for the last 3 years. I am not keen on sunbathing but do not restrict my time out of doors when weather is fine and not had a problem.
Im on ' Methotrexate crap' and garden in the sun sit on the beach in the summer sometimes go ab road - last year 2 weeks in Italy - came back so brown and felt wonderful - I havent had sun burn and use a sun cream but not the high factor one - I think it must be diffwerent for different people x
I’m on Mxt and love the outdoors and sunshine. I do use a fairly high sunscreen 30 and I don’t sunbathe too much, but I get a good tan. I am prone to skin cancers anyway but I haven’t found that it’s any worse since treatment. Think you just need to take care. If I forget to put sunscreen on I certainly do burn , much more than before.
