I too, can smell cigarettes smoke all the time, and I don’t smoke. There is no cigarette smoke.

I haven’t smelled or tasted in 2 years. I have had 1 injection of generic humira and my smell has come back for 5 days now !!!!!!!! I do still smell smoke also.

I smell smoke, petrol and electrical burning quite often without explanation. I’m drug free so it’s not that but possibly attributable to Sjogrens Syndrome which I do have.

This happened to me about 4 years ago- constantly smelling petrol, to the point my head was constantly thumping and I could almost tast it too! Saw neurologist and was diagnosed with Phantoskia. He told me that it usually diasappeared after 6 months, but that also, it could last forever. Unfortunately,

It shows no sign of disappearing and has now progressed to lots of other smells.

He said it may have started as a result of nasal infection, tooth/ mouth infection or perhaps my medication but did not say it was related to my conditions ( AS/RA).

It is extremely annoying and I hope it clears up for you soon x

That’s interesting as a key symptom of Stills Disease is constant sore throats

I get a disgusting smell aura right before a massive migraine. It got so bad I saw a neurologist to rule out a tumor. Thankfully it is a migraine weirdness. Odd, because when I was younger I got the classic visual aura! Fortunately I have learned what triggers them (mostly!) So I rarely suffer as much as I used to.

I smelled cigarettes after I had lost my sense of smell with covid. It eventually went.

Just to say how sorry I am for you all. Since I had covid my sense of smell came back more acute and I cough with strong perfume!

Look after yourselves and seek medical advice if it continues!

When my smell returned I found I hated my normal perfume. Odd isn’t it.
