Been reading here folic acid has helped some With there hair thinning. Does this have to be prescribed? And What MG are you on?

My rheumatologist said he’d heard patients report good results from taking Biotin Tablets for hair loss. So I ordered some on Amazon and started taking it and within 6-8 weeks my hair loss had stopped. I’ve continued to take it and now also use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner which is helping hair to grow back. Always check with your consultant/nurse first though. Hope you find something that works 🤞

My medication is 20mg Methotrexate once a week and a 4mg tablet daily of Baricitinib(Olumiant) I also get prescribed 5mg Folic Acid 5x a week to help stop any hair loss, if you eat eggs, meat, nuts( especially almonds,) fish and oily fish along with mushrooms and green veg, you'll get all the Biotin and b vitamins you need.

Hi SassyZee - I found a good collagen powder and MSM was a game changer for me.. Everytime I washed my hair I felt concerned didn't want to comb it. As mentioned I did try biotin as well. Good luck with it. Hessie 😌

Have you talked to your hairdresser? My daughter-in-law used to teach hairdressing and beauty therapy and has lots of experience with advising people about hair loss which sounds quite scientific and sensible to me.

No I haven't, did just get it cut an said something to the young lady Who cut it but she didn't say anything.

I have had great results with biotin and collagen powder( marine) I also sleep on a silk pillow case ( ooo) this is great as my hair doesn’t get knotty and I rarely need to brush my hair it all helps

I have use Biotin before I'm going to try it again.

My hair thinned a lot of Methotrexate 25mg I had to stop it for 6 months and my hair grew back. I wonder if you're deficient in some vitamins or minerals? So many things can affect hair health. Same as skin. Do you eat a good variety of fruit and vegetables daily?

What kind of arthritis do you have?

Not what you're looking for?
