I have been having shooting sort of like quick hot flash pains randomly in my legs. I wonder if this is a side effect of leflunimide. I have been on it for several years so it is hard to tell if this could be associated with the drug. They aren't too often but I sure don't want them getting worse as they hurt.

Sounds like restless legs maybe. I have a friend on medication for it as it was stopping her sleeping. I would get it from time to time and it passes fairly quickly but it definitely feels weird and yes very uncomfortable. I think it can be due to being over tired. Speak to your GP.
Im not on leflunimide but I've been getting a similar thing. It started in my right thigh about a month ago and now in my left. A tingling, prickly feeling , stabbing pain sometimes , feels like something is crawling in my legs. It only seems to happen at night, not during the day , and eases when I get out of bed.My rheumy suggested it might be restless leg syndrome.
