I have recently noticed increasingly dry scalp. Can anyone recommend any shampoo/ conditioner to help? No expense (at this scale) spared. I have very fine hair, and dont want this to have further effects. I've looked at all the commercially available ones, dont have any way to judge which work and are pleasant. Any suggestions?

If you really mean No Expense Spared try Phillip Kingsley’s Body,Volume,Hydration from QVC They have it on offer atm.Ref248823
It is EXPENSIVE…..but it will last ages…mine lasts 9/12 months …you don’t need to use much to lather it up…..and best of all, you can try it for 60 days & get a full refund if it doesn’t suit.
I have used PK products for years…& although it is so fine my hair is as good as it has ever been...like you I have baby fine hair & only go to the hairdresser to get cut…it’s a waste of money to get it styled as the “style”has gone before I have driven home!
Thanks - my partner Paddy talks about things being reassuringly expensive…
I must admit I have had the odd conscience attack & gone back to a high street brand..but looking in the mirror decided me to stick with PK …..especially using their Elasticiser conditioner once a week….that is megabucks too but also lasts a year. But, As Hillary Clinton said Hair Matters!
and others say ‘you’re worth it’
Do you have a really good hairdresser nearby, my hair is thick but I buy shampoo from the salon is more expensive but lovely make called Delphines it’s organic and goes a long way so worth looking at.
my lovely hairdresser is everything I can wish but just uses Faith in Nature and some of the other answers have suggested other options. Thanks!
This isn't for everyone, but I stopped having problems with my scalp when I stopped using shampoo. in fact I no longer actually wash my hair at all. It takes a few months for things to stabilise, but I am so glad I did this.
It was a lightbulb moment when watching the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures one year, and the scientist asked do we really need to use conditioner on our hair. His answer was yes, you wash out all the natural oils, so you have to put them back on again.
I had already had to stop washing my autistic son's hair, so I thought I would try it myself. I thought hey, I could save a lot of money here by not washing the natural oils out first! I do have a really good quality brush, and brush my hair every day (it is very long, I haven't had it cut for years) then I put it in a plait. It has now been 20 years since I have washed my hair, and no one ever makes a comment about it!
Hi Cathie,
I suffer with dry scalp too. I’ve tried various shampoos with little effect. One thing I do which has helped is to massage body shop coconut oil into my scalp and leave it for a while before shampooing. It can be left in overnight. I use faith in nature shampoo and only use a small amount.
Hope you find a solution.
Thanks I’ll do that if the stuff I’ve ordered doesn’t work. I like coconut oil!
I have the same problem. I use Champo shampoo at £18 a bottle but it lasts me 6months as U have short very fine hair
years ago I bought a bottle of pure Argan oil direct from the producer in Marrakesh. My hair is fine and goes berserk from time to time. I also have a dry scalp. When I need a reset, I rub the oil into my scalp and leave it for a few hours, then shampoo. There is nothing like it. I’m not sure whether the pure oil is available over here, but it has lasted so long, I would honestly consider going to Morocco again to get another bottle.
I bought mine in the Medina from women who were extracting the oil from the nuts. I wish I’d bought more now but, as you say, another visit might be necessary 😂
I think you should - spring in Marrakesh sounds alluring!
