I have a chronic AI rheumatoid condition (diagnosed 1979) and other AI conditions that have joined in over the last twenty years. I have dry eyes and wonder is this syndrome can also affect the nostrils? I get a very strange feeling that builds during the day almost as if I’m inhaling eucalyptus or something, it’s most disconcerting and I’ve just started to wonder if perhaps my nose lining is dry ? I’m not on RA meds and have no known allergies, I do not have sinus issues, a cold, Covid or any thing I can identify as a contributing factor except tinnitus and helicopter blade feeling in my head. Weird huh?
dry eyes - dry nose?: I have a chronic AI rheumatoid... - NRAS
dry eyes - dry nose?

since RA dry eyes and nose been bad and tinnitus. bUT let GP team or RA team know too. I had a hearing test done recently to check ears and they were fine but I have tinnitus but glad I checked nothing going on.
I suspect it’s thyroid related actually, another complex area and difficult to get the right diagnosis and treatment but I’m managing whatever it all is atm . Opticians soon which may shed some light.
My ophthalmologist gave me a great routine including eye massages and Xailin which was my game changer 🥰
xailin? OTC or POM?
My eyes and nose are always very dry since RA. I've never mentioned my nose to the rheumy as I've never connected it until I've just read your post.
Could you have Sjorgen’s that could cause your nose to feel dry among other things? Be best to try to speak to your doctors.
I have dry eyes and nose, kept telling my GP and Rheumy, both ignored. Finally after my optometrist said I am starting to get some damage the rheumy referred me to ophthalmology.
It is a shame that western medicine is done by silos, with thyroid overseen by endocrinology and joints by rheumatology. It should be that people with autoimmune disease should be seem by immunity specialists!
So keep on at them about it!
A holistic approach is always the best way and when I was diagnosed with sJIA at five in 1973 I was automatically seen by many different departments and the results were all put in a central place so the consultant could have an overview of what was going on. I was thoroughly checked for several ailments at each appointment. Them were the days!
I live in Colorado where it is very dry. I also have RA. I us Moist heat compress. Microwaves in 20 seconds and feels good. I also use Ocusoft lid scrub when my eyelids get dry. It actually is good to clean your eyelids.
