I use adalimumab to help with psoriasis and other joint issues
I had a message of Sciensus literally the week after a delivery at start/mid of January (I get them every 2 months/8 weeks or so). And so I am due a delivery in mid march time. However when I got the reminder to book a delivery in mid march I was gonna order and get it done, it gave me delivery dates of mid march. I then checked last week and it was still giving me a deliver for mid march. Today I logged back onto the Sciensus app as I got another reminder (2/3) and when I went on it said my prescription has expired.
however my prescription has 6 months on it to get me to my 6 monthly checks, this means that my prescription was renewed in October and should have got me through this delivery until my April check in. However when I spoke to my hospital today they said the earliest they could get me in was the start/middle of march which means by the time I have an appointment and get a new prescription (which takes 1-2 weeks to seem to go through/be approved) and get a delivery ordered (again usually 1-2 weeks) I will have run out and got a couple weeks without it.
Looking for any advice about what to do/any advice
thanks in advance,
Katie

when I had a similar situation, my rheumatologist just checked my bloods were still in range, and signed off the prescription without the need for an appointment. I have AS, so can complete the required bath scores over the phone. Not sure if that’s an option for you.
Unfortunately the last time I had blood and other checks was back in October and they Sciensus have said there’s nothing they can do even though I should have the prescription for one more delivery.
My hospital has put me on a cancellation list and a higher priority, but unfortunately I live 35/40 mins away from this hospital with good traffic so when they had a cancellation today in half an hour I couldn’t take it.
As a cherry on top my main consultant goes on annual leave for 2 weeks from next Monday, just to make everything harder 😂😂
Have you explained the problem to the hospital? In that situation my rheumatology department would just check my latest blood test results and reissue the prescription without the need for an appointment.
If that’s not an option would an appointment with one of the rheumatology nurses be sufficient?
I have spoke to them today and said theirs nothing they can do and give you another number to call, got to person 5 and have up cos got told to call my hospital. The last time o had bloods was in October when I got my last script so I don’t think it could be that
if it was me I would go and get your bloods done as the results would be with them within 24-48 hours and then ask if you could have a telephone consultation instead of a F2F. At least they should then be able to approve your prescription and if necessary arrange another appointment for later in the year. Unless of course you feel you need to see them. At our hospital you can have telephone consultations as a patient choice, I’ve arranged one to get my biologics switched next week.
Unfortunately to get blood at my hospital I need to be given a sheet of paper (almost like a script for a prescription) to get them done so currently trying to get them to give me one and I can then get a telephone.
I do need to speek to them but it’s okay for me to wait until my appointment in April.
I have always had my bloods done every 3 months. Can you not request that you have your bloods done so the hospital can check that everything is ok so they can sign off a new prescription?
