6th covid jab

Hi all. Back from a fabulous holiday in Scotland, hence not posting for a couple of weeks. I had my 6th covid booster the day after our return. I have had 2 AZ that made me ill, 1 moderna, fine, 2 pfizer fine and the last one I thought was going to be sanofi but when they asked if I was immunosuppressed they said I had to have the pfizer which I was happy about as I had been fine with the other 2, no side effects at all. I had it on the saturday lunchtime and on Sunday I was so ill. I couldn't stay awake, completely wiped out. I felt dreadful and these symptoms lasted 6 days. I tested for covid twice but they were negative. Has anyone else had a reaction to the latest pfizer after being fine with the previous ones.

Glad you enjoyed Scotland, the boosters reduce your immune system by 18% so you are probably more likely to pick up illnesses, take care of yourself. I have knoiw several peopel with very bad reaction to the boosters.

I suppose it could be how we are at the time. Maybe I was too tired or not feeling great to begin with. Thanks dor replying.

I have had 7 Phizer and reactions to one. I think it might have been the 5/6 one but no idea why. I hope your feeling better now.

It's strange isn't it? I'm fine now. Thank you.

No, sorry. My next booster will be my third booster .. I’m a bit behind due to my out of sync B cells and vaccine route .. (previous boosters were Pfizer. Both of those I was fine.) Glad to hear you feel improved now.

had 2 AZ, 3 Pfizer and1 moderna which affected me badly so won't take that again. 7th dose was due in April but have heard nothing despite still shielding [on RTX] and am inclined to not chase it up as we don't go away untl winter time. hoping for Pfizer again tho'. Hope you are recovered now.

They are planning autumn boosters too but not sure when they will start. Spring boosters are only available until 30th June. If you change your mind you can book on the national system and just take a hospital letter which lists Rituximab as a medication with you.

I'm in South Africa and I've had 3 Pfizers so far ( last one a year ago). I think our government has given up trying to push it because the uptake is so poor, (traditional and other reasons),I've heard nothing about getting a booster and most of the places giving the vacs have packed up shop. All the special precautions are no longer being advertised, no figures etc. I think they are leaving it to us to get 'tough', but I have not heard of anyone with Covid for ages, even the lady who I employ to do some housework for me a couple of days a week and who travels on packed buses and minibus taxis, is no longer wearing a mask and worried about it and she was virtually paranoid!

If people stop testing and have a mild illness as is common for healthy people with the current mutation, then you won't know what it is. It's still around and could mutate again so best to be as protected as possible.

I couldn't agree more.

Well that's great. Hopefully it will be like that here one day. There is still plenty of it about here unfortunately so risk assessments are still necessary, in my opinion anyway.

My first 4 were Pfizer, 5th Moderna and last two were Pfizer bivalent. The first 5 I had no side effects at all. The last two Pfizer ones I was fine on the day I had it but the day after I just felt completely wiped out and lacking in energy. Only lasted a day and I was back to normal the next day.

It sounds like the bivalent is the problem then. Still it's better than getting covid.

So both the autumn and spring booster doses by Pfizer are the bivalent, and known as Pfizer Cromarty. I had it as my 6th & recent 7th and have been fine. Had a flare from holding off my methotrexate for 2 weeks. Hopefully you’re feeling better now. 🤗

Thank you. I am fine now but we are all different and react differently to drugs as well as vaccines as we know from the many different drugs we take for RA. I would still always have the vaccine when offered to me. A few off days is a small price to pay.

I had the Pfizer as immune suppressed and have been ok with it. Other than the usual sore arm. There has been a nasty sore throat followed by irritating cough doing the rounds which made me quite ill a couple of weeks before my jab, maybe you have picked this up. (I tested for covid a couple of time’s, both negative)

I didn't have a cough or sore throat, it was just reaction to the vaccine. Hey ho! Another one of life's little teases.

I had my 7th covid jab yesterday, all pfizer. I’ve had differing reactions each time. Some were fine, others felt a bit off. Today I’ve had aches and pains all over. The previous one I had at the same time as the flu jab and was really ill the next day with awful headache, nausea and vomiting.

When I actually had covid a couple of months ago I had cold/flu symptoms plus dizziness and vomiting. My blood pressure also went sky high, which I’m still on tablets for now.

It seems any excuse for my body to attack itself it really goes for it!

That sounds awful and much worse than mine.

I have had 6 Pfizer injections and 1 Moderna and apart from the first 2 Pfizer injections when I had a mouth full of ulcers I had very little problems.

On Saturday I had my 7th vaccination, this was the new Pfizer one so thought I’d just have the aching arm. However, I woke on Sunday with a horrendous headache followed by vomiting, I felt absolutely awful and looked like death warmed up!! By the end of the day apart from feeling completely washed out thankfully the headache and vomiting had eased.

Take care everyone xxx

Sounds like the latest pfizer is giving more problems than the others
