Covid boosters

Just had my 6th jab. Does anyone know if this is the end of it or are we be going to have a booster every 6 months indefinitely?

I don’t think we know yet but I’m guessing we all be getting them regularly.

When I went for my first booster a couple of weeks ago the lead sister who runs the large vaccine centre said I should get a letter from my consultant re my catch up for the other two as I’m a year behind. I asked her re the continuation of boosters in general and she said her strong feeling and what she reads and hears from the professional side was that the immunosuppressed (and their partner/family etc) and seniors would be priority and continue in this way re boosters every six months, but it may go to yearly in time with newer vaccines/have far less numbers of cases. The centre is one of 50 main largest ones in the country and she said they have been told they’ll stay open but not every day. It’s 4 or 5 out of 6 days at the mo.

Had my 5th last Sunday and the nurse said that she thought that it would eventually be annually like the flu jab.

There are fresh outbreaks in SE Asia at the moment. I wouldn’t be surprised if we have a few more.

There was talk of one of the covid vaccine manufacturers potentially producing a covid booster & flu vaccine in one. I bookmarked the article so will have to rifle through them to find it but will post the link when I have a mo.

I have serious concerns about all these boosters, they really affect your immune system, I am not having any more

Of course each of us should choose what we feel is right for us, but maybe talking to your consultant or doctor could answer some concerns.

I think some of the reports coming out now about vaccine deaths and injuries are really scary x

i went for having covid instead of the vaccine treated it very effectively with cholecalciferol ( the active form of vitamin D). The most effective treatments for covid have been removed from supply.

on amazon there is a self help book for coping with injuries from the vaccine, it's not the book I found disturbing it was the several hundred comments on it. What some of these people have gone through is horrendous.

at the time and still I am very glad I didn't have the vaccine. But with a man made viruses who knows what it'll be changed into. Being vaccinated for covid I'd different from the flu vaccine. As with any treatment it is personal choice. Not sure if you've been following the farce in Europe where a committee is trying to get pfizer to give them a copy of the contract? A hundred blanked out pages and a refusal to attend means pfizer has a lot to hide

I am with you, I have had it twice, and have used alternative methods, it worries me that people have been so taken in by it, the pharma have a lot to answer for! Thank you

ive only had it once, had flu loads of times just one of the joys of having step children at school.

very often flu tests positive for covid as the way the test works it cant tell the difference. Might be why orange juice along with other fruit drinks tests positive for covid

 Don't think anyone can answer this but I guess a lot depends on what the future holds. Personally I'd like to see an annual vaccine like we have for flu

i expect we will have to be boosted every 3-6 months, perhaps with Evusheld or similar in the future as this gives us ready-made antibodies.

I don't know but there was talk of a yearly booster like the flu jab. If they do continue to have 6 monthly boosters, bring it on. I will be first in the queue.

I’ve recently had my sixth too. I don’t the future of the vaccine programme has been announced yet, but I’m sure, as long as there is Covid, there’ll be vaccine.

yes I also had my 6th few weeks ago and i asked the nurse when she give me it if it was a every 6 month thing and she just said as long has we feel we need you to have it we will invite you for one. So I said to her so basically how long is a piece of string lol only different this time was I didn’t get my flu jab in other arm at same time I got it a week before.

HI MerielPB, I had my booster 3 mths ago, lost count of the number I've had, I think it's 4 or 5 🤭 but was late having the spring booster because of a steroid injection in my shoulder, anyway just received a invite for another one but I'm having another steroid injection next week for same shoulder, plus its only been 3mths, I think I'll wait till the 6mths is up though, even then I think having a booster every 6mths is a bit too much 🙄 Best wishes Sarah

 I've had 6 jabs now and have had worse and worse flares after each one. It had taken 3 years from diagnosis to find a medication other than prednisolone that actually worked (Baricitinib), and then the covid jabs came along and unravelled all the good work. I'm now seriously thinking I might have to isolate until Evusheld becomes available as I don't think I can manage with this 6 monthly torture... 😪

if it makes you ill each time why are you still having it?

my mother had her sixth 5 - 6 weeks ago she's not been right since. Very tired all the time and for some one in her 90s she still had an amazingly sharp mind. Now she's just not with it. I have mobility problems and live a long way away feel I should see her while I can.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother. Hopefully she'll return to her normal self over time. Personally, I still believe that the covid jabs are providing me with protection, which is why I've carried on having them. I would have to completely isolate at home without that protection, as I don't want to risk catching covid. If I go out unvaccinated, I feel it would be like playing russian roulette with my health, not knowing how bad I might be if I catch it, and whether or not I get long covid.

I totally understand what you are saying, under normal circumstances I do the same.Something never sat right with how covid was being handled. To many Contradictions then the vaccine came along and the world went crazy.

By nature I need to look at a subject from all angles, I'm stuck in bed alot of the time and in a great deal of pain. Researching different thing learning about different subjects helps me manage the situation I'm in.

to me having the vaccine would of been playing Russian roulette. Sadly that's been backed up by people who have suffered from being vaccinated.

Having had covid and treating very effectively with cholecalciferol ( active form of vitamin D). Having the vaccine "is to me ", more risky than boosting my Immune system.

Vaccinated or not boosting ones immune system will help get over viruses/ bugs. So if you are not taking a Quality vitamin D then you should be. Eating a balanced diet including the occasional red meat. Drinking clean water and exercising. All add to how our body copes.

Ive had my 6th jab too . Flu jab will be later this week .

I've become increasingly poorly after each successive jab and last year the flu jab affected me too .

My husband has fared the same , although he has only received covid jabs because of my immunosuppression.

Neither of us has had covid, as far as we know . Although we've had some symptoms in the past , all LF tests have been negative .

I'm happy to have an annual 'flu and covid jab ( although not at the same time ) but I think that's enough until "they" prove otherwise.

I don't know but I suspect the vaccines will improve in time, certain Covid strains will prevail, so they'll be annual eventually. I hope, anyway.

I had my sixth a couple of weeks ago, and I think this is an ongoing procedure - there's no sign of the virus, or its variants disappearing soon.

We'll become used to it in the same way as we are to the annual flu vaccine. These viruses and others like them are easily transmitted. The world is much more vulnerable to viruses transmitted via animals. I heard a talk on BBC radio about the problem, but I can't remember the details, so won't guess - but it's an interesting subject.

I ve had 5 but having just had covid for nearly 3 weeks and ended up in hospital with cardiac and lung issues - heaven knows if they are related but I will take a break from boosters. Apparently the immune is quite strong after infection.

I had my 6th dose last Thursday and, for the first time, was unwell afterwards and only just getting back to my normal today but I did actually have Covid 6 weeks ago so could be the cause. I’ve had Pfizer every time and would be loathe to have a different one now but will take advice should that occur. I think that the Covid vaccine will be combined with the annual flu jab within a couple of years - we have the best pharmaceutical experts in the world.
